Some Acer laptops come with preinstalled Acer utilities and partner apps, but there is no single bundle shared by every model. Whether an app counts as “bloatware” depends on whether you find it useful or redundant. Check the apps on your specific laptop before removing anything.
What software might come with an Acer laptop?
Acer manuals show examples including Acer Care Center, Acer Quick Access, Acer Jumpstart, Acer Product Registration, and a Dropbox promotion. A Predator app-management list also includes audio and media applications. These are examples from particular product families—not a complete or universal list of software on Acer laptops. The exact preinstalled apps can vary by model, product family, region, and software configuration. Acer’s support documentation and the manual for your exact model are better guides than a generic list.
“Bloatware” is subjective: a support or hardware-control utility may be useful to one owner and unnecessary to another. One concrete case of overlap is Acer Care Center and AcerSense. Acer says AcerSense incorporates most major Care Center features, so it is not necessary to keep both installed. That does not mean every feature is identical on every Acer device.

- Open Windows Settings and look for the installed-app list under Apps. Labels and layout can vary by Windows version and build.
- Review the apps by name and publisher. If you do not recognize an app, check the documentation for your exact Acer model before removing it, especially if it may control a hardware feature.
- Find your model’s manuals and drivers through Acer’s US support page. Support options and available documentation may differ by region.
Acer manuals for Predator systems illustrate possible apps, but they do not establish what an Aspire, Swift, TravelMate, Chromebook, or another Acer model includes.

How to uninstall an unwanted app
For an ordinary Windows application, use Windows’ normal uninstall route rather than deleting its files or making registry changes. Acer’s published instructions describe Windows 10, so the exact labels may differ on Windows 11.
- Open Settings > Apps.
- Select the unwanted application and choose Uninstall, then follow the prompts. If the app appears in the Start menu, Acer’s Windows 10 instructions also describe right-clicking it and choosing Uninstall.
Some Windows components cannot be removed this way. If an app is missing from the uninstall list or a hardware feature stops working afterward, consult the manual, drivers, or support resources for your model before changing services or system files. Acer support provides links to model resources, Acer Answers, warranty information, and repair services.

Removing Acer Care Center when AcerSense is installed
Acer gives this route for removing Care Center: open Start > All Apps, right-click Care Center, and select Uninstall. Acer says AcerSense incorporates most major Care Center features, but consider any model-specific functions you use before uninstalling it. Acer’s guidance on removing Care Center after installing AcerSense explains the overlap.
Uninstalling one app or resetting Windows?
For a single unwanted application, uninstalling that app is the more limited option. Resetting Windows affects a much broader set of software and settings.

When a reset may make sense
Acer’s Nitro AN517-54 manual documents a Reset this PC option that reinstalls Windows, restores default settings, removes preinstalled apps and programs, and can keep personal files. It also affects other installed applications, so it is disproportionate if your only goal is to remove one app. The manual documents a specific Nitro model; it does not establish identical reset behavior for every Acer laptop. Check your device’s documentation and the Windows reset options shown on your system before proceeding.
