If your DJI RC or DJI RC 2 charges over USB-C but no files appear, power on the controller before connecting it to your computer, then look for its storage disk. DJI’s documented export steps use a USB cable and provide different folders for footage on the microSD card and in internal storage. A charging indicator alone does not confirm that the computer has mounted either one.
Transfer files directly from a DJI RC or RC 2

Power on the remote controller.

Connect the controller’s USB-C port to the computer with a USB cable.

On the computer, look for and open the controller’s storage disk.

Open the folder that matches where the footage was saved:

DJI’s export instructions cover the DJI RC, DJI RC 2, DJI RC Pro, and DJI RC Pro 2. This guide focuses on the RC and RC 2; other controllers may have different workflows. See DJI’s computer export instructions for DJI RC series controllers.
If the controller charges but no storage appears
Power reaching the controller and storage appearing on the computer are separate things. DJI identifies USB-C as a port for charging and connecting the controller to a computer, but the fact that the controller charges does not show that the computer has mounted its files. Check the following without assuming a single cause:

Make sure the controller was powered on before you connected it, then check the computer’s available disks or storage devices.

Confirm you are looking in the location that matches the footage: the removable card and internal storage have separate folders.

Try a known data-capable USB-C cable and a different computer port, if available. DJI specifies a USB cable for the export connection; a data-capable replacement is a reasonable test, not a guaranteed fix.

DJI’s export article does not establish that a charge-only cable, a particular USB setting, a driver, or a controller fault is the cause when files do not appear. Use a card reader for footage on the microSD card
If the files are stored on the removable microSD card, you can remove the card and connect it to the computer through a compatible card reader. DJI recommends this route for card-stored files and says it is faster than connecting the controller directly; DJI does not publish a measured speed comparison.
This option cannot retrieve footage saved only in the controller’s internal storage. Choose a reader that connects to your computer; DJI does not specify a particular reader model.
If a Mac does not recognize the controller
DJI’s export article says the controller runs Android and directs Mac users to install Android File Transfer when a Mac cannot recognize it. The instruction concerns a utility on the Mac, not an app to install on the DJI RC. Follow DJI’s current export guidance for the applicable controller and computer.

Choose the transfer method by storage location

When to contact DJI support
If neither the direct connection nor the card-reader route works for files on the card, check the exact controller model and DJI’s current instructions before pursuing repair. The card-reader option does not test or retrieve files held only in internal storage.
