There is no single “Dish TV frequency” that works for every receiver. The right settings depend first on which service you mean—DishTV India or DISH in the United States—and then on the satellite, receiver, and installation. A transponder frequency is also different from an LNB frequency: entering one in the other setting will not tune the service.
Which Dish TV service do you mean?
“Dish TV” can refer to DishTV India or to DISH, the U.S. provider. Their satellites, receiver instructions, and tuning details are not interchangeable. Identify the provider and country before changing receiver settings.
For DishTV India, the provider says its DTH operations use SES-8 at 95.0°E and AsiaSat-5 at 100.5°E (DishTV India: What is DTH Technology and Infrastructure?). These orbital positions identify satellites; they are not transponder frequencies.

A transponder frequency is a service- and satellite-specific tuning value that a receiver uses to find a signal. An LNB setting configures the low-noise block downconverter attached to the dish, including its type or local-oscillator frequency and, where available, its power setting. These are separate fields in receiver setup, not alternative names for the same number.

For example, a Grundig CG5T00 receiver manual lists 09750/10600 as a universal LNB option. That is an equipment configuration example from that manual—not a current DishTV India transponder frequency. The manual’s setup flow separates satellite selection, transponder selection or editing, LNB type, LNB power, and DiSEqC configuration (Grundig CG5T00 user manual).
How to find the correct value for your receiver
The official DishTV India channel guide lists channels and programs, but does not provide an indexed current transponder-frequency table (DishTV India Channel Guide). A channel number is therefore not enough to determine its tuning frequency. The available provider information also does not establish a current frequency table for a particular receiver and location.

- Confirm the provider and country. Do not use a value or menu procedure intended for a different Dish TV service.
- Identify the receiver and installation. Record the set-top-box model and determine which satellite and dish/LNB arrangement the installation uses.
- Get the current transponder details from provider support. Ask for values that match your service, satellite, receiver, and installation rather than relying on an undated online frequency list.
- Enter each value in the matching receiver field. Select the correct satellite and transponder, then configure the LNB type or frequency, LNB power, and DiSEqC setting as required by the installation. Menu names vary by receiver; follow its manual.
- Check the receiver’s signal display. Use the signal-strength or signal-quality screen while confirming settings. For U.S. DISH installations, the provider’s pointing guide explains how to check signal strength through receiver menus (DISH Portable Dish Pointing Angle Guide).
If the signal is missing
Before changing frequencies, check the physical connection between the antenna and set-top box. DishTV India’s self-help guidance includes checking that connection and, in one troubleshooting flow, switching the box off and on (DishTV India Do It Yourself Service).
If heavy rain is affecting reception, wait for it to stop before expecting the signal to recover; DishTV India includes this advice in its service guidance. If reception remains unavailable, contact the provider with your receiver model and installation details rather than substituting a guessed frequency. A signal meter may help with dish alignment, but it cannot correct an incorrect service setting, incompatible receiver, or subscription issue.
