The Dimensity 9400e leads the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 in the benchmark figures reported by 91mobiles, including AnTuTu and Geekbench multi-core. That makes it the stronger performer in that comparison—not a guarantee that every phone using it will run games faster or last longer. Cooling, power limits, memory, software, and the specific handset all affect real-world results.

For a phone decision, use the chip comparison as one clue, then compare the actual models you can buy. MediaTek announced the Dimensity 9400e on May 14, 2025; the comparison page identifies the realme GT 7 as one phone using it and the vivo V70 Elite as a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 example. Regional variants and current availability should be checked separately.

Benchmark results: Dimensity 9400e leads in 91mobiles’ comparison

91mobiles’ comparison page, accessed October 7, 2026, displays the following results. These are publisher-reported figures, not guaranteed scores for every phone or evidence of a controlled, same-handset test.

Benchmark statistic Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 Dimensity 9400e
AnTuTu overall 1,815,619 2,125,733
Geekbench single-core 2,003 2,219
Geekbench multi-core 5,094 7,308

All figures in the table are from 91mobiles’ displayed comparison. The Dimensity scores are higher in all three listed results. AnTuTu versions and phone test conditions can change results, so these numbers should not be treated as universal processor specifications. Overall scores can also conceal differences among CPU, GPU, memory, and user-experience components.

Which processor is better for gaming?

The benchmark comparison favors the Dimensity 9400e, but it does not establish which chip delivers higher sustained frame rates in every game. A CPU or overall benchmark score is not a substitute for a game-specific GPU test. The 9400e’s listed GPU is Arm Immortalis-G720 MC12; Qualcomm identifies an Adreno GPU, and 91mobiles names it Adreno 735.

For gaming, the phone’s thermal design and cooling, power limits, drivers, and the game’s optimization can matter as much as the chip’s peak capability. Compare sustained performance and temperatures in the specific phone models you are considering rather than assuming the higher benchmark score guarantees a better long session.

CPU and graphics specifications

Specification Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 Dimensity 9400e
CPU layout and listed maximum clocks Eight cores: one Cortex-X4, four Cortex-A720, and three Cortex-A520; Qualcomm lists clocks up to 3 GHz, while the comparison page supplies the layout. Eight cores: one Cortex-X4 up to 3.4 GHz, three Cortex-X4 up to 2.85 GHz, and four Cortex-A720 up to 2.0 GHz.
GPU Adreno GPU; 91mobiles identifies Adreno 735. Arm Immortalis-G720 MC12.
Manufacturing process 4 nm, according to Qualcomm’s overview. Third-generation TSMC 4 nm, according to MediaTek.

The 9400e’s CPU combines four Cortex-X4 cores with four Cortex-A720 cores, while the 8s Gen 3 includes three Cortex-A520 cores alongside its performance cores. Core labels and clock rates alone do not show how quickly a phone will run over time or how efficiently it will use power. Both manufacturers describe a 4 nm-class process; that label by itself is not a direct efficiency comparison.

Memory, connectivity, cameras, and displays

These are platform capabilities, not promises that every phone will include every feature. Manufacturers select components and configurations, and regional network support depends on the handset.

Area Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 Dimensity 9400e
Memory and storage 91mobiles reports LPDDR5X and UFS 4.0; Qualcomm’s surfaced overview does not detail these specifications. MediaTek lists LPDDR5X/LPDDR5T, memory frequency up to 9600 Mbps, and UFS 4 with MCQ.
Connectivity Qualcomm lists Snapdragon X70 modem-RF and Wi-Fi 7 support. MediaTek lists sub-6 GHz 5G, Wi-Fi 7 tri-band concurrency, Bluetooth 6.0, and Wi-Fi data rates up to 7.3 Gbps.
Imaging and video Qualcomm lists an 18-bit ISP; 91mobiles lists support for camera sensors up to 200 MP and UHD video at 60 fps. MediaTek lists an 18-bit RAW ISP, support for sensors up to 320 MP, and video up to 8K at 30 fps or 4K at 60 fps.
Display Not stated in the cited comparison materials. MediaTek lists support for WQHD displays up to 180 Hz or 4K displays up to 120 Hz.

MediaTek also claims hardware ray tracing and MFRC 2.0+. It says MFRC 2.0+ “can reduce power consumption by up to 40% when enabled.” That is a conditional vendor claim, not an independently demonstrated general battery-life result. Neither a camera sensor ceiling nor a supported display mode tells you the quality of a phone’s camera or panel.

How to choose between phones using these chips

Start with the exact model and regional version, not just the processor name. The realme GT 7 is identified as a Dimensity 9400e phone, while the vivo V70 Elite is identified as a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 phone in 91mobiles’ comparison. That pairing is useful for locating example handsets, but it does not establish local availability, price, or that every regional version has identical specifications.

  • Sustained performance: Look for tests using the same workload over time, with thermal behavior reported—not just a short peak score.
  • Battery and charging: Compare phone-level battery capacity, runtime evidence, and charging support. Qualcomm lists Quick Charge 5 support for the chip, but the handset must implement compatible charging hardware.
  • Camera: Compare the actual sensors, lenses, stabilization, and image processing on each phone; platform megapixel limits are not camera-quality ratings.
  • Display and configuration: Check the installed screen, RAM, and storage. Platform maximums do not establish the configuration a manufacturer selected.
  • Software support: Check each phone maker’s update policy and support period; the processor comparison does not establish either.
  • Purchase fit: Verify local price, network bands, and availability for the precise model variant.

Verdict

Choose the Dimensity 9400e if you are comparing only the cited benchmark results: it scores higher in 91mobiles’ displayed AnTuTu and Geekbench figures and has a higher listed maximum CPU clock. For a purchase, choose between specific phones by weighing sustained gaming, battery life, cameras, display, software support, and local configuration; the chip comparison cannot decide those handset-level trade-offs.
