The MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ is the more capable choice for 5G connectivity on paper; the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 is an LTE-only platform. Their CPU and GPU specifications differ, but the available benchmark evidence does not support a reliable, controlled performance winner between the two chips. A phone’s design and configuration also affect how either chipset performs.
Dimensity 6100+ vs Snapdragon 665 specifications
The clearest difference is cellular support: the Dimensity 6100+ includes a 5G modem, while the Snapdragon 665 uses an LTE modem. Other published specifications show different CPU designs, graphics hardware, and manufacturing processes, but do not by themselves predict a specific phone’s speed or battery life.
| Specification | MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ | Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 |
|---|---|---|
| CPU | 2 Arm Cortex-A76 cores up to 2.2 GHz and 6 Cortex-A55 cores up to 2.0 GHz | Octa-core Kryo 260 CPU up to 2 GHz |
| GPU | Arm Mali-G57 MC2 | Adreno 610 |
| Manufacturing process | TSMC N6, described by MediaTek as 6 nm-class | 11 nm, according to Qualcomm |
| Cellular modem | Multi-mode 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G; 3GPP Release 16 modem | X12 LTE modem |
| Listed peak cellular download | Up to 3.3 Gbps, a MediaTek platform maximum | Up to 600 Mbps LTE, a Qualcomm platform capability |
| Memory and storage support | LPDDR4x memory and UFS 2.2 storage | Not stated in the Qualcomm product specifications cited here |
| Camera and display support | Camera ISP support up to 108 MP and displays up to 120 Hz | Spectra 165 ISP; camera features up to 48 MP snapshot |
| Other listed features | Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2 | Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) with MU-MIMO and Quick Charge 3.0 |
These are chipset or platform specifications, not guarantees about a handset. Phone makers choose components and implementations, so the supported camera resolution, screen refresh rate, network bands, charging behavior, and resulting user experience depend on the phone.
What the CPU and GPU specifications tell you
CPU configuration
The Dimensity 6100+ has two Cortex-A76 performance cores and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores, with the listed maximum frequencies shown in the table. Qualcomm describes the Snapdragon 665 as an eight-core Kryo 260 CPU with a maximum frequency of 2 GHz. The architectures and core arrangements are different; comparing clock speeds alone cannot establish which phone will feel faster.

Graphics
MediaTek lists a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, while Qualcomm lists an Adreno 610. The model names establish which graphics platforms are specified, but they are not a substitute for a matched gaming or graphics test. Phone cooling, software, display resolution, and game settings can all affect observed results.
Manufacturing process and efficiency
MediaTek identifies the Dimensity 6100+ as using TSMC N6, described as 6 nm-class; Qualcomm lists an 11 nm process for the Snapdragon 665. These process labels do not establish comparative battery life. Battery capacity, screen, modem use, software, and the chip’s implementation in a particular handset also matter.

5G versus LTE: the practical distinction
The Dimensity 6100+ supports multi-mode 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G and is identified by MediaTek as a Release 16 modem platform. Its launch announcement also specifies support for up to 140 MHz 2CC 5G carrier aggregation. The Snapdragon 665 is specified with Qualcomm’s X12 LTE modem, not 5G.

What benchmark evidence is available?
The available figures do not provide a controlled, same-conditions comparison of the Dimensity 6100+ and Snapdragon 665. NanoReview lists user-submitted Dimensity 6100+ results, including a Geekbench 6 CPU submission dated August 15, 2026, with 675 single-core and 1,791 multi-core, and AnTuTu 12 submissions dated September 14 and 17, 2026, with a listed score of 608,209. These are observations from submitted devices, not matched head-to-head tests, and scores can vary by handset.
A CPU Monkey comparison page was also surfaced, but the inspected evidence did not establish comparable scores with matching benchmark versions, handset configurations, and test conditions. It would therefore be misleading to use the listed Dimensity scores to declare a numerical winner over the Snapdragon 665.

Which chip should you choose?
Choose based on 5G needs first
If 5G is a requirement, the Dimensity 6100+ is the relevant option of these two based on the published modem specifications. Check that the exact phone supports the 5G bands used by your carrier and region; a chipset’s general 5G support does not confirm every handset’s band compatibility.
Compare the phones, not just the processors
If both phones meet your connectivity needs, compare their actual prices, software-support commitments, memory and storage configurations, battery capacity, display, camera implementation, and regional network support. Those factors can make a larger difference to ownership than the processor specifications alone.
