Yes—but only a Resident Evil 4 cutscene has been demonstrated on the Nokia N95, not the complete playable game. Reports say Argentine developer Dante D. Leoncini ran the test in Whisk3D using assets from the GameCube version.
What the Nokia N95 demonstration shows
Leoncini described the experiment in an October 1, 2026 post as “1° test of a Resident Evil 4 cutscene running on the Nokia N95.” Critical Hits reported on the post the next day. Its scope matters: this is a cutscene test, not evidence of a finished Symbian port or of the full game running as a playable experience.
According to the reporting, the test used GameCube-version assets and ran through Leoncini’s Whisk3D software. That describes an experiment using game assets; it does not establish a native commercial release of Resident Evil 4 for Symbian.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteWhat the developer says was the technical bottleneck
Leoncini’s assessment was: “As usual, skinning is the real bottleneck, not rendering.” In this context, skinning is the process of deforming a character model as its bones move. His comment identifies character skinning—not drawing the scene—as the constraint he observed in this test.

- This unlocked cell phone is compatible with GSM carriers like AT&T and T-Mobile. Not all carrier features may be supported. It will not work with CDMA carriers like Verizon Wireless, Alltel and Sprint.
- Quad-band GSM cell phone compatible with 850/900/1800/1900 frequencies and International 3G compatibility via 2100 UMTS/HSDPA plus GPRS/EDGE capabilities
- Dual slide design; 8 GB of internal memory (not expandable); 5-megapixel/camcorder with Carl Zeiss Optics and DVD-quality video capture
- Wi-Fi networking (802.11b/g); A-GPS for navigation with Nokia Maps app; Bluetooth stereo music; integrated stereo speakers
- Up to 5 hours of GSM talk time (3.5 hours using 3G), up to 280 hours of standby time
The reports also relay his statement that the CPU processes thousands of vertices in milliseconds. They do not provide a test method, an independently measured result, or a frame-rate figure for the cutscene, so that description should not be treated as a benchmark or proof of playable performance.
Why a 2007 phone is part of the story
Nokia announced on March 22, 2007, that N95 shipments had begun in key European, Asian, and Middle Eastern markets. The company described the handset as based on S60 software on Symbian OS and promoted features including 3D graphics. Those details place the device in its period, but Nokia’s announcement does not measure or verify performance in Leoncini’s later test.

- Unlocked cell phones are compatible with GSM carriers such as AT&T and T-Mobile, but are not compatible with CDMA carriers such as Verizon and Sprint.
- Quad-band GSM cell phone compatible with 850/900/1800/1900 frequencies and International 3G compatibility via 2100 UMTS/HSDPA plus GPRS/EDGE capabilities
- Dual slide design; MicroSD slot for optional expansion; 5-megapixel/camcorder with Carl Zeiss Optics and DVD-quality video capture
- Wi-Fi networking (802.11b/g); A-GPS for navigation with Nokia Maps app; Bluetooth stereo music; integrated stereo speakers
- Up to 5 hours of GSM talk time (3.5 hours using 3G), up to 280 hours of standby time
The striking point is therefore limited but clear: a developer demonstrated a Resident Evil 4 cutscene on hardware associated with a 2007 phone. It is not the same as porting the full GameCube game to Symbian.
