Deus X Capital says it will close by January 31, 2027, as investors move its assets and portfolio companies into two more focused vehicles: Darius Cubed Ventures, centred on AI, and 95, focused on markets and fintech. The plan is a restructuring and return of assets—not an announcement that every company in Deus X’s portfolio is shutting down.
When will Deus X Capital close?
Deus X Capital’s official statement says it will close by January 31, 2027. CEO Tim Grant described the decision this way: “After a tremendous run, Deus X Capital will be closing down by 31st January 2027.” Deus X Capital’s statement sets out the company’s planned closure; CoinDesk reported that the firm had ceased operations and would formally unwind on that date: CoinDesk’s report.
Why is Deus X Capital closing?
The company has framed the closure as a shift by its investors toward two more focused investment vehicles, rather than as a statement that its portfolio businesses are being wound down. It says assets and portfolio companies will be returned to investors as those investors move activity into Darius Cubed Ventures and 95. The sources do not give a detailed reason for the decision or explain the legal form of the asset returns.
