The DeLonghi DEIND604 is a four-zone, 60 cm built-in induction cooktop with touch controls and a listed maximum capacity of 7.4 kW. Its public CHOICE page confirms that a review exists, but keeps the expert rating, performance scores, and pros and cons behind member access. That means the available public evidence supports a specification-led assessment—not a verdict on how well it cooks.
What the DEIND604 is—and what its review can establish
CHOICE lists the DEIND604 as a frameless, touch-controlled induction cooktop with four cooking zones and a 60 cm width. Its public listing reports a maximum capacity of 7.4 kW. CHOICE says the model was tested in 2023 or earlier, but the accessible page does not reveal the expert rating or scores for cooking performance, ease of use, low- and high-heat control, turn-down, or boil time. Its listed strengths and weaknesses are also member-only. See the CHOICE DEIND604 listing.
So, the public material does not support calling the cooktop a strong or weak performer, or claiming personal test results. It does give enough detail to assess its layout, controls, published power figures, and installation dimensions.

The DEIND604 manual lists four zone diameters and their normal and booster outputs. It cautions that nominal and booster power may vary with the size and material of the pan, so these figures should not be treated as guaranteed output for every cookware combination.

| Zone diameter | Normal power | Booster power |
|---|---|---|
| 160 mm | 1200 W | 1400 W for one 160 mm zone |
| 160 mm | 1400 W | Not stated separately for this zone in the manual |
| 200 mm | 2300 W | 3000 W |
| 250 mm | 2300 W | 3000 W |
The manual’s booster information identifies 1400 W for one 160 mm zone and 3000 W for the 200 mm and 250 mm zones; it does not separately identify which of the two 160 mm zones receives the 1400 W booster figure. Consult the DEIND604 user manual for the complete operating and technical instructions.
Controls and everyday features
The manual identifies an on/off key, a setting selector, a booster/child-lock key, a pause key, four zone displays, and an automatic cooking timer. These are touch controls rather than physical knobs. The listed functions make it possible to adjust zone settings, pause cooking, use the timer, and select the child lock or booster function.

- PORTABLE INDUCTION BURNER: Duxtop induction cooktop uses 110/120 V 15 amp electrical outlet–standard in all North American homes. ETL listed and built to North American electrical standards. It is lightweight and compact for easy handling and storage
- Choose from 20 preset power levels (100 to 1800 W) and 20 preset temperature level settings (100 °F to 460 °F). With an 83% energy efficiency, induction burner is more efficient than traditional gas or electric stoves

- Induction stoves rely on cookware to heat, so it’s essential to choose magnetic bottom cookware with a minimum diameter of 5 inches. Auto-pan detection will shut off automatically after 60 seconds if no cookware, or the incorrect cookware is detected
- Although induction itself is a noiseless process, there may be high pitched sounds from the cookware due to multiple layers of metals sandwiched together. Please allow the induction cooker to cool down before cleaning
- The touch-control area switches off with a warning beep if a key is held for more than ten seconds, an object is left on the controls, or liquid spills onto them.
- Do not leave metallic objects such as cutlery or lids on the hob; the manual warns that they may heat.
- If the ceramic glass cracks, disconnect the appliance from mains power and contact after-sales service, as the manual directs.
Will your pans work on the DEIND604?
Induction requires magnetic cookware. The retailer listing says this cooktop is compatible only with cookware made from magnetic material. A pan that is not magnetic will not be suitable for induction use on this hob. Check your existing cookware for a magnetic base before relying on it; do not assume every stainless-steel, aluminium, or other pan will work based on its material name alone. The retailer’s product listing also provides this compatibility guidance.

How to compare it with another 60 cm induction cooktop
Use comparable details rather than relying on the DEIND604’s headline width alone:
- Zone layout: Compare the 160, 200, and 250 mm zones with the bases of the pans you actually use.
- Power: Compare normal and booster figures, while accounting for the manual’s pan-size and material caveat.
- Fit and supply: Check cut-out dimensions and electrical requirements against both appliances’ local documentation.
- Controls: Check whether the other model offers touch controls, pause, a timer, and a child lock, and whether its control layout suits your cooking habits.
- Test evidence: Separate publicly available test results from scores or pros and cons that require membership access.
Is the DeLonghi DEIND604 worth considering?
It is a model to consider if you need a 60 cm, four-zone induction cooktop and its published dimensions, magnetic-cookware requirement, zone layout, and touch-control functions suit your kitchen. The available public information is not enough to recommend it on cooking performance: CHOICE’s detailed results are not visible to non-members. Current price, stock, and warranty terms are not established by the cited product information, so check those directly for your location before deciding.
