The Corsair Obsidian 450D is a roomy, airflow-oriented mid-tower with broad motherboard support, removable dust filters, and useful radiator options—but fit depends on where the radiator goes and whether the front drive cage stays installed. Corsair’s published limits make it possible to check component fit on paper; AnandTech’s 2014 review provides historical independent context, not a current comparison or fresh test.
What the Corsair Obsidian 450D offers
Corsair identifies the case as the Obsidian Series 450D, SKU CC-9011049-WW. It combines an aluminum fascia with a steel body and an acrylic side window, rather than tempered glass. Corsair describes the design as airflow-oriented and says two AF140L fans are included at the front as intake. Those are manufacturer descriptions and specifications, not results from a new comparative airflow test.
Corsair lists seven fan mounting points and says, “All air intakes are protected with removable dust filters.” That makes the case’s cooling design and filter access central features, though airflow in a finished system will depend on the chosen fans, radiator placement, components, and configuration.
Will your motherboard and components fit?
Corsair’s published compatibility limits are useful starting points, not a guarantee that every combination will fit. Check the exact dimensions of your parts and account for the cooling layout, especially when using a front radiator or retaining the drive cage.

These figures come from Corsair’s Obsidian Series 450D product page. AnandTech’s 2014 review independently reported overall dimensions of 494 × 210 × 497 mm (H × W × D), along with 165 mm CPU-cooler and 430 mm GPU clearances; those measurements are historical review context.
Can a 360 mm radiator fit in the 450D?
Yes, Corsair lists 360 mm radiator compatibility, and its installation guide specifies that the top is pre-drilled for up to a 360 mm radiator. The front is a different fit: the guide says it accommodates up to a 280 mm radiator when the front hard-drive cage is removed. The official product page also lists 120, 240, and 280 mm radiator sizes, but a size listing by itself does not establish every possible mounting position or simultaneous combination.

A launch announcement reproduced by Orient Publication also lists support for up to a 240 mm radiator at the floor. Treat that as launch-era information, and check clearances for the exact radiator, fans, graphics card, and storage arrangement before committing to a layout. Do not assume multiple radiators will fit together simply because each size appears in a compatibility list.
Corsair’s product page lists these compatible liquid coolers: H55, H60, H75, H80i, H90, H100i, H105, and H110. Compatibility with a named cooler does not eliminate the need to check the mount position and surrounding component clearance.

What did the 2014 review say?
AnandTech’s 2014 Corsair Obsidian 450D review is useful as a record of the case’s original-era design and build experience. It reported a launch-era MSRP of $119, which is not a current price. Its observations should be read as historical context rather than evidence of contemporary comparative performance or present-day retail availability.
Filters, spare parts, and ownership
Corsair’s parts catalog names replacement and service parts for the 450D, including the front and bottom dust filter (CC-8930253), left side panel (CC-8930252), fascia (CC-8930254), optical-bay covers (CC-8930255), I/O panel (CC-8930256), SSD trays/drive cage (CC-8930257), AF140L fan (CO-8950006), AF120L fan (CO-8950005), top magnetic mesh (CC-8930289), rubber feet (CC-8930337), and HDD upgrade kit (CC-8930032). These names and part numbers can help identify the right component when searching for a replacement; their appearance in a catalog does not establish current stock.

For a replacement filter or fan, compare the model and part number against Corsair’s case parts catalog and verify compatibility with the seller before ordering. The catalog also lists the AF140L and AF120L as model-specific fan parts.

The 450D’s strongest case is its combination of roomy component limits, multiple motherboard sizes, removable filters, and radiator flexibility. Its main planning caveat is that radiator fit is location- and configuration-specific: the front’s stated 280 mm option requires removing the drive cage, while the 360 mm provision is at the top. The historical review is useful for understanding the model’s original reception, but it cannot tell you today’s price or availability.
