“Sibling Theme” is a Petri Alanko composition for CONTROL Resonant that grew out of a more vibrant instrumental version of “The One I Once Knew.” Alanko reshaped it into a quieter piece for intimate childhood-memory scenes, describing it as music that “soothes and comforts” Jesse and Dylan Faden’s “dented childhood memories.”
How “Sibling Theme” developed
In an interview with TechRadar published on 1 October 2026, composer Petri Alanko said the track began as an instrumental version of “The One I Once Knew,” but its livelier character felt overwhelming beneath scenes centered on childhood memories.
He tried toning the material down, but the alternatives did not click until he tested the harmonies and melody with electric piano. That process led to a more restrained treatment suited to the scenes. Alanko summed up the choice simply: “a delicate moment needed a delicate solution.”
What the theme means for Jesse and Dylan
Alanko described “Sibling Theme” as a “subset of the origin theme” and said it represents the bond between Jesse and Dylan. He said the music “carries the emotions, as if it soothes and comforts the siblings’ dented childhood memories.” The track is therefore not just a quieter variation: its reduced intensity was intended to support an emotionally intimate moment between the siblings.

The relationship remains central to the game’s story even though Dylan is the playable protagonist. Remedy’s official Steam announcement feed identifies Dylan as the only playable protagonist and says Jesse remains central, with the siblings’ stories connected. Alanko also praised the performances in the scene where the track plays, saying they surface a lot of emotion.

TechRadar reports that the official CONTROL Resonant soundtrack has 13 tracks and is available on music apps and YouTube. The report does not name individual streaming services, so availability may depend on the service and region. Its embedded YouTube listing labels the piece “Sibling Theme (Broken Circuit)”; the feature itself refers to it as “Sibling Theme.”
The game’s launch announcement appeared on 24 September 2026. TechRadar’s 1 October feature reports availability for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, as well as the soundtrack’s digital release.
