In the Testing Facility’s “Shut Down the Experiments” objective, press L1 at the upper console, put a power block into the red-flashing tower, remove a block from the blue-lit tower, then return to the console and activate its prompt. The quest log should update; return to the console when every generator tower glows green.
How to solve the Resonant Testing Facility puzzle
- Start the experiment: At the upper console, press
L1. - Power the red tower: Enter the chamber and insert a power block into the socket of the tower flashing red.
- Adjust the blue tower: Remove a power block from the socket of the blue-lit tower.
- Check the towers: When all generator towers in the chamber glow green, return to the upper console.
- Finish at the console: Activate the console’s interaction prompt. The guide reports that the quest log updates after this interaction.
Where this solution applies
This sequence is for the Testing Facility area during “Shut Down the Experiments,” part of “Unsupervised Science.” The described power-core shutdown takes roughly 60 seconds. It applies to the red-flashing and blue-lit tower layout described here; a separate Unknown Testing Facility walkthrough describes a different five-core room, so its layout and extra routes are not steps for this puzzle.
What the tower colors mean here
For this room, use the tower indicators to decide how to adjust power: add a block to the red-flashing tower and remove a block from the blue-lit tower. The goal state described by the guide is for all generator towers to glow green before you return to the console.
