The vivo S2 5G has the larger, sharper display and a higher-capacity battery; the vivo V40e has a dedicated rear ultra-wide camera, a higher-resolution autofocus selfie camera and faster listed charging. In vivo India store snapshots accessed on 7 October 2026, the V40e was ₹35,999 for 8GB+256GB and the S2 was ₹42,999 for 8GB+128GB. Since those prices are for different storage capacities, the ₹7,000 gap is not a like-for-like comparison.

Specifications and configuration details above are from vivo India product and store listings accessed 7 October 2026. These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent performance measurements. The S2 5G name is used by 91mobiles for the vivo India model called S2; this comparison concerns that 2026 India-market phone, not an older similarly named model from another region.
Which display is better for you?
The S2 has a 6.83-inch AMOLED display at 2800 × 1260, compared with the V40e’s 6.77-inch AMOLED display at 2392 × 1080. Both listings specify a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. On published specifications, the S2 offers a slightly larger screen and more pixels, which may suit readers who prioritize screen size and resolution. Those numbers do not establish which display looks better in person.
How do the cameras differ?
Choose the V40e for more camera flexibility
The V40e pairs a 50MP main camera with OIS and a dedicated 8MP ultra-wide rear camera. Its front camera is a 50MP autofocus ultra-wide. That gives it a distinct listed option for wider rear-camera scenes and selfies, as well as autofocus on the front camera.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The S2 adds a secondary camera, not an ultra-wide
The S2 lists a 50MP main rear camera and a 2MP secondary camera; vivo identifies the main sensor as Sony IMX852. Its front camera is 32MP. The 2MP secondary unit is not equivalent to the V40e’s dedicated ultra-wide camera. Megapixel counts and camera roles alone cannot establish which phone takes better photos; no independent camera comparison is established here.
Battery capacity or faster charging?
vivo lists a 7,050mAh battery and 44W charging for the S2, versus 5,500mAh and 80W for the V40e. The S2 has the larger nominal battery capacity; the V40e has the higher listed charging wattage. These figures do not establish real-world runtime or full charging time, which depend on usage and charging conditions.

What does the price difference actually mean?
The vivo India store snapshots accessed 7 October 2026 showed the V40e at ₹35,999 for the selected 8GB+256GB version and the S2 at ₹42,999 for the selected 8GB+128GB version. That makes the displayed S2 price ₹7,000 higher, but it is not a fair same-storage premium: the V40e listing is for twice the storage.

The S2 store page lists both 128GB and 256GB options, but the price for its 256GB option was not captured in the accessed variant view. Check the live store listings and select the same RAM and storage capacity before deciding which costs less. Prices and availability can change. As secondary context, 91mobiles reports release dates of 25 September 2024 for the V40e and 11 August 2026 for the S2, and shows prices that differ from vivo’s store; those figures should not be treated as current official-store prices.

What about software support, durability and 5G?
Update commitment
vivo’s S2 product page states three generations of OS updates and five years of security updates. The cited V40e materials do not establish a matching support-duration promise, so the available information does not support a direct comparison of their full update lifetimes.
Water and dust resistance
vivo lists IP64 for the V40e and claims IP68/IP69 for the S2. Those are manufacturer claims; vivo cautions that the S2’s water resistance is not permanent. Do not treat either rating as a guarantee against every kind of liquid exposure or wear.

India 5G band compatibility
The S2 listing specifies a set of India 5G bands, but compatibility in practice depends on the carrier’s deployed bands and coverage where you use the phone. Check the handset’s full band list against your carrier’s network rather than assuming that a 5G label guarantees service everywhere.
