Colt Technology Services has completed the sale of eight European data centres: NorthC acquired six facilities across six cities, and Stellanor Datacenters acquired two London sites. Colt says the colocation business of about 400 customers transferred, while most of those customers also buy Colt network services and were expected to remain Colt customers.

Colt Technology Services announced the completed transaction in a company announcement whose publication date is not displayed. The sites were part of the assets Colt acquired through its 2023 Lumen EMEA transaction. Colt’s completion announcement and its earlier sale announcement describe the deal.
What happened to the customers?
Colt says approximately 400 colocation customers transferred with the facilities. It also says most of those customers bought Colt network products and were expected to continue as Colt customers. Colt retained network equipment in the sites and described an ongoing partnership with both buyers. The announcements do not name the customers or provide site-by-site service details. Did Colt sell Colt Data Centre Services?
No. The transaction covered facilities owned by Colt Technology Services following the Lumen EMEA acquisition. Colt says the divestment is separate from Colt Data Centre Services (Colt DCS), which designs, builds and operates data centres for global hyperscalers and large enterprises. Why did Colt sell the facilities?
Colt said the sale would help it focus on its core business strategy and sustainable digital infrastructure. CEO Keri Gilder said the company’s priorities included growth, customer experience and building a sustainable network, and described the relationship with NorthC and Stellanor as an enduring partnership. The Colt announcements examined do not disclose the financial terms or sale price. They also do not state the facilities’ individual capacities.

What Colt says about its remaining network
In the completion announcement, Colt reported that its wider infrastructure connects 32,000 buildings, spans more than 40 countries, reaches more than 275 Points of Presence and includes ten subsea cable systems.
