The funding announcement centered on Teamspaces, which Codezero described as a collaborative environment for developing microservices across local machines and cloud infrastructure. As of October 4, 2026, Codezero’s homepage instead presents Cordon, a credential-containment product for AI agents and developer tools; that is a later company positioning, not the product named in the funding announcement.
What Codezero announced
Vancouver, British Columbia-based Codezero said it raised $3.5 million in seed funding, with Ballistic Ventures leading the round. Codezero also said Ballistic Ventures General Partner Roger Thornton joined its board. The announcement named Thomas Dohmke, Nick Caldwell, Marty Weiner and James Routh among its existing angel investors and advisors; it did not specify how much any of them invested. Codezero’s March 12, 2024 announcement set out the company’s account of the round.
Codezero said it planned to use the proceeds to grow sales and marketing and expand its partner network. The intended audience included enterprise DevOps and DevSecOps organizations, cloud-service providers, and cloud-migration specialists. The company did not publish a budget breakdown or specific milestones for that work.
What Teamspaces was meant to do
The product associated with the 2024 funding news was Teamspaces. Codezero called it an “identity-aware overlay network” for collaborative microservices development. Its description was that developers could assemble temporary environments with services running across local machines, cloud environments and colleagues’ computers, without needing direct knowledge of the underlying infrastructure or direct access to credentials. Codezero said these environments were intended to resemble production.

Those are descriptions from the company, not results of independent security or performance testing. SecurityWeek’s March 15, 2024 report on the announcement summarized Teamspaces as spanning local and cloud services and noted that it could work with existing infrastructure, tools and CI/CD pipelines. That report covered the announcement; it was not a product test.
What Codezero says it offers now
Codezero’s homepage, reviewed October 4, 2026, puts the emphasis on Cordon, a credential-containment layer for AI agents and developer tools. The company says Cordon intercepts outbound requests and injects credentials in transit, so agents can use services without directly holding secrets. Codezero describes its Developer Edition as available and free, Teams as in development, and Enterprise as available through a conversation. These are the company’s current product and availability statements, not independent verification of security effectiveness; status can change. See Codezero’s homepage.
The distinction matters when reading the funding story: Teamspaces was the product described in 2024, while Cordon is the company’s later public positioning. The available material does not establish that Teamspaces is currently sold, nor does it provide independent efficacy testing for either product.

- Established: Codezero announced a $3.5 million seed round led by Ballistic Ventures on March 12, 2024, and described intended investment in sales, marketing and partner-network growth.
- Company product claims: Teamspaces was presented as a way to create collaborative, ephemeral development environments across local and cloud services; Cordon is now presented as a credential-containment layer.
- Not established in the cited material: a funding allocation breakdown, independently measured security outcomes, or the existence of a public affiliate or publisher program.
Reed Clayton, Codezero’s co-founder and CEO, said, “Our mission is to empower DevOps teams with collaborative, multi-cloud infrastructure that prioritizes both security and developer productivity.” Thornton said, “With their impressive team and technology, we’re excited to have Codezero join the portfolio.” Both quotations appeared in Codezero’s funding announcement and should be read as statements from the company and its investor, not as independent findings.
