Cloudflare and Bluehost suit different kinds of websites, so neither is the universal winner. Cloudflare is a better fit for developers deploying static sites or applications through its platform. Bluehost is the more direct choice if you want a conventional hosted WordPress installation with managed features and support bundled into a plan. The key question is whether you need a managed WordPress host or a developer-oriented deployment platform.

What are you comparing?

Cloudflare Pages and Workers are deployment platforms for static assets and applications. Pages can serve static files, and Pages Functions can run server-side code. Cloudflare says Workers supports most Pages use cases with a broader feature set and recommends Workers for new application projects. See Cloudflare’s Pages overview.

Bluehost sells conventional web hosting and managed WordPress plans. Its cited WordPress plans bundle features such as storage, a migration tool, CDN, backups, and support. Those models solve different problems: one centers on deploying a site or application; the other provides a hosted environment for running WordPress.

How do the costs and included resources compare?

Cloudflare’s cost depends on what your site does. Static asset requests on Pages are free and unlimited under the documented pricing model. Requests that invoke Pages Functions count under Workers pricing. Cloudflare documents a Workers Paid plan with a $5 monthly minimum, specified included usage, and additional charges above its thresholds. Check Pages Functions pricing and Workers pricing against your expected request and CPU usage.

Bluehost’s US WordPress pricing page, checked in 2026, lists these prices for a 36-month term:

Plan Introductory price Renewal price Listed storage Estimated monthly visits
Starter $3.99/month for 36 months $9.99/month 10 GB 40,000
Business $6.99/month for 36 months $13.99/month 50 GB 200,000

These are live vendor-listed US plan figures, not permanent rates or independently verified capacity guarantees. The introductory prices assume a three-year term, and renewals cost more. Confirm the current offer and the plan details on Bluehost’s WordPress pricing page before purchasing.

Bluehost’s separate web hosting pricing page also lists Starter at $3.99/month and Business at $6.99/month for 36-month terms, with renewals at $9.99/month and $13.99/month respectively. Those figures come from the general web hosting page; do not assume its plan details are interchangeable with WordPress plans.

Is Cloudflare Pages a substitute for managed WordPress?

Not as a direct replacement for a dynamic WordPress installation. Cloudflare’s documented route is to export an existing WordPress site into static files with the Simply Static plugin and deploy those files to Pages. The original WordPress installation can remain elsewhere as the editing and content source. See Cloudflare’s static WordPress deployment guide.

A static export does not preserve WordPress behavior that depends on server-side features. In the documented workflow, forms, comments, and internal admin routes are not supported on the static site. Content changes require another export and deployment; the guide notes that automatic updates are unavailable with the free version of Simply Static. If your site relies on dynamic plugins or normal WordPress administration, choose a host that runs WordPress directly or plan a replacement architecture before moving.

Which option fits your site and workflow?

Choose Cloudflare when deployment and application behavior are your priority

  • You are comfortable with a source-control, build, and deployment workflow.
  • Your site is static, or your application is suited to Cloudflare’s Pages and Workers platform.
  • You can assess execution limits and costs if requests invoke Functions or Workers code.

Choose Bluehost when you want a conventional managed WordPress environment

  • You need a directly hosted WordPress installation rather than a static export.
  • You prefer a hosting dashboard and WordPress administration to a developer deployment workflow.
  • The plan’s bundled features and support fit your needs, and you have accounted for its renewal rate and term.

Check limits before committing

Cloudflare’s documented Workers limits distinguish between plans: the Free plan has a 100,000-request daily limit and 10 milliseconds of CPU time per invocation; the Paid limit table allows up to five minutes of CPU time per invocation, subject to configured limits and pricing. Review Cloudflare’s Workers limits for the applicable details. On Bluehost, treat the published visit counts as plan estimates rather than guarantees, and verify the current features on the exact product page for your market.

What the available evidence does—and does not—establish

The product documentation supports a fit-based recommendation, not a performance ranking. It does not establish which provider will be faster, more reliable, or better supported for your particular site. Those outcomes depend on your application, configuration, workload, and support needs; no controlled comparison is established here.
