Clonezilla Live 3.3.1-35, announced on February 24, 2026, includes Linux kernel 6.18.9-1 and Partclone 0.3.45. Its notable changes include support for cloning between 4kn and 512n/e disks, refinements to NTFS and GPT handling, and improved BitLocker password retry behavior in the clone server. Clonezilla has since moved on: its download page listed 3.3.3-37 as stable on October 4, 2026.
What changed in Clonezilla Live 3.3.1-35?
The project’s February 24, 2026 announcement identifies this specific point build as based on Debian Sid as of February 20, 2026. It updates the Linux kernel to 6.18.9-1 and Partclone to 0.3.45. These are release package versions, not evidence of a measured speed or reliability improvement. Clonezilla’s announcement lists the changes.
Disk-sector conversion and partition handling
The release adds mechanisms for cloning between 4kn and 512n/e disks. It also improves NTFS sector-count handling when converting between 512-byte and 4K sectors, introduces the ocs-pt-512-4k-convert utility, and makes the GPT expansion tool more robust when disk sectors do not match.
BitLocker and other workflow changes
The release notes report improved BitLocker support in the clone server’s ocs-onthefly workflow. If a password entry is wrong, the workflow prompts for another attempt. The text user interface also enables Direct I/O (-edio) by default.

Additional fixes and metadata
Other listed changes include deriving network-card firmware lists directly from Linux kernel modules and adding fdisk.list and blkdev.json to image directories. Fixes cover multicast from raw devices with unknown filesystems, extended MBR partition detection, network-clone partition ordering, MTD/eMMC restoration, and PTUUID device lookup. These are changes reported by the project; the announcement does not provide independent test results.
Does the 3.3.1 series use Linux kernel 6.18?
Yes, but the exact kernel package depends on the point build. The 3.3.1-35 announcement specifies 6.18.9-1. The indexed changelog also lists 3.3.1-23 with 6.18.3-1 and 3.3.1-37 with 6.18.15-1. Therefore, “Clonezilla Live 3.3.1 uses kernel 6.18” describes the series broadly; use a suffix such as 3.3.1-35 when citing a precise package version. The Clonezilla changelog lists point-build history.

Is Clonezilla Live 3.3.1 the current release?
No. As checked on October 4, 2026, Clonezilla’s official download page listed 3.3.3-37 as the current stable Debian-based release. Treat 3.3.1 as a historical release rather than the version to choose by default for a new download. Check the official downloads page for the version currently offered.
How do you put Clonezilla Live on a USB drive?

If the target system uses UEFI Secure Boot, choose an AMD64 (x86-64) build. The project gives this guidance for both Debian-based and Ubuntu-based builds.

Before relying on the download, verify it using the project’s checksum and signature guidance. The download page says checksum files are GPG-signed by the DRBL project; use its linked verification instructions rather than treating an unchecked download as verified.

The announcement reports software changes but gives no benchmark results, so it does not establish that 3.3.1-35 clones disks faster than another build. Nor does it provide quantified reliability results or independent compatibility testing. Its kernel, Partclone, and other version identifiers describe the release contents, not performance measurements.
