The title alone does not identify a specific Citizen Attesa reference, so it is not possible to confirm that the newly launched watch uses atomic timekeeping or to give its model number. Citizen’s official pages document different Attesa models with different synchronization systems and sapphire components; those details should not be combined as though they describe one watch.
Which Attesa model is the launch?
The available official information does not establish the reference number behind this headline. Citizen’s 2025 Japan announcement covers two ACT Line Eco-Drive GPS satellite radio-controlled models with ceramic bezels, while the AT8294-59E is a separate H800 radio-controlled model on Citizen’s US site. The 2025 announcement does not identify the AT8294-59E as its launch watch.
Citizen announced the two GPS models on February 4, 2025, with a stated Japan release date of March 6, 2025. That date applies to those announced GPS models, not to an unidentified Attesa watch or the AT8294-59E. Citizen’s 2025 ACT Line announcement
Does the Attesa sync with atomic time?
AT8294-59E: H800 radio time signals
Citizen describes the AT8294-59E as an Attesa H800 with Eco-Drive Atomic Timekeeping. Its radio-controlled system receives local time signals in four regions and adjusts the time and calendar when traveling. Citizen lists a 42 mm Super Titanium case and a sapphire ring bezel for this model. These specifications identify the AT8294-59E, not the unconfirmed reference behind the launch headline. 2025 ACT Line: GPS satellite reception
The two watches in Citizen’s 2025 Japan announcement are described as GPS satellite radio-controlled models. GPS satellite reception is a different synchronization method from the H800’s local radio time-signal reception; the terms should not be used interchangeably. Citizen’s announcement does not establish that these watches use the H800 system.
Is the sapphire on the crystal or the bezel?
That depends on the reference. Citizen identifies a sapphire ring bezel on the AT8294-59E. Its 2025 GPS-model announcement specifies dual-spherical sapphire glass and ceramic bezels. A separate 2022 Japan announcement documents F950 GPS satellite radio models CC4055-65E and CC4050-18L with both sapphire bezels and dual-spherical sapphire crystal glass. The component descriptions are model-specific, so “sapphire glass” alone does not confirm whether a particular watch has sapphire on its crystal, bezel, or both. Citizen’s 2022 F950 announcement

What model number, price, and availability are confirmed?
No reference number, price, or availability for the exact watch named in the headline is established by these official sources. The model numbers CC4055-65E and CC4050-18L belong to the distinct 2022 F950 GPS models, and the March 6, 2025 Japan release date belongs to the two models in Citizen’s 2025 GPS announcement. Neither can be assigned to an unidentified launch model.
For a buyer, the decisive next step is to match the watch’s reference number to Citizen’s product page or announcement. That lets you verify the synchronization system, whether sapphire refers to the crystal or bezel, and availability for the relevant market without conflating separate Attesa models.
