If a Chromium screenshot ends at the visible window, first check whether you requested a viewport capture instead of a full-page capture. In Puppeteer, set fullPage: true; its documented default is false. If that is already set, check any crop rectangle and whether the capture is using the Puppeteer API or the Chrome DevTools Protocol.
Capture the full page with Puppeteer
Use Puppeteer’s fullPage option when the desired output should include the full document rather than just the visible viewport:
await page.screenshot({ path: 'page.png', fullPage: true });
The documented default for fullPage is false, so a screenshot call that omits the option normally captures the viewport. See the Puppeteer screenshot options.
If the screenshot still stops early, inspect the actual options passed to page.screenshot(). A wrapper, helper, or later options object may omit or override fullPage. Also check whether the request includes a clip; a bounded capture region can produce a cropped result even when the page itself is longer.

- Easy Testing: HexChecks Instant Swabs allow for quick and convenient testing for the presence of hexavalent chromium.
- Efficient Pack: Comes in a pack of 10 swabs, providing ample supply for multiple testing needs.
- Reliable Results: Utilizes a proven testing method to accurately detect hexavalent chromium traces.
- Compact Design: Swabs are conveniently packaged in a compact box for easy storage and portability.
- Straightforward Usage: Simply swab the desired surface and observe the color change for a clear indication of test results.
Check clipping and capture settings in the DevTools Protocol
If your code calls the Chrome DevTools Protocol directly, inspect the parameters sent to Page.captureScreenshot. The protocol exposes both clip and captureBeyondViewport; the latter defaults to false. A clip rectangle sets a specific capture region, while captureBeyondViewport controls capture outside the current viewport. Consult the Page.captureScreenshot protocol reference and confirm the values your code actually sends.
Do not assume that adding a clip automatically means “capture the whole document.” Check the rectangle’s x, y, width, and height against the region you intend to capture, and use the appropriate full-page behavior for your API rather than relying on a guessed crop.

Diagnose what the output is showing
- It ends exactly at the visible viewport: For Puppeteer, verify that
fullPage: truereaches the screenshot call. Its default isfalse. - It ends at a particular coordinate or region: Look for an explicit
clipand validate its position and dimensions. - You use the raw protocol: Inspect
Page.captureScreenshotparameters, especiallyclipandcaptureBeyondViewport. - You only need one component: Use Puppeteer’s
ElementHandle.screenshot()instead of capturing the document. The Puppeteer guide says it attempts to scroll a hidden element into view by default; see Puppeteer screenshots. - The page is exceptionally tall: First rule out incorrect options, then consider output-size constraints. A report in a 2017 Puppeteer issue described a 16,384-pixel maximum height in the reporter’s tested cases and white output for some very tall pages. That historical observation is not proof of a current universal Chromium limit; see Puppeteer issue #359.
Or skip the browser setup
ScreenshotNeo offers a one-request screenshot API if you would rather not configure a browser capture yourself. Its response identifies whether a page was clean, failed, or served from cache, and only clean shots are billed.

Does `fullPage: true` change Puppeteer’s viewport size?
It requests a screenshot of the full page rather than only the visible viewport; it is a capture option, not a general viewport-resizing instruction.

- ✅ MADE IN THE USA FOR MAXIMUM ACCURACY - Test strips made overseas can be inaccurate, hard to read due to bleeding colors, fall apart, or do not even work. Instead choose quality with a leading American manufacturer of high-grade water testing products.
Is 16,384 pixels a current Chromium screenshot limit?
The cited number is a reporter’s observation in a 2017 Puppeteer issue, not an established universal limit for current Chromium versions.
