How to narrow down your choice
- Measure the load and route. Note the largest item’s footprint and height, then check cart dimensions against doorways, aisles and storage clearance.
- Choose the shelf layout. Compare shelf count and adjustability with the amount and shape of what you will carry.
- Check the exact capacity condition. Use the figure for the precise model and caster configuration. If the listing specifies evenly distributed weight, do not assume the same capacity applies to a concentrated load.
- Choose wheels for the job. Verify swivel and locking-caster details against how the cart will be moved and parked.
- Confirm environmental fit. For the cited Metro finishes and the TRINITY listing, the stated guidance is dry-environment use; seek a product explicitly rated for other conditions if needed.
Capacity and environment: important limits
The VWR examples show why a single “chrome cart capacity” figure would be misleading: listed Metro configurations include 600 lb and 900 lb specifications, with the latter applying to specified polyurethane-caster configurations. The Costco TRINITY listing states 600 lb total capacity when evenly distributed. These retailer specifications should not be read as independent test results or transferred to a different model.
