To install an app on a Toshiba Smart TV, use the app store for the TV’s operating system: VIDAA, Fire TV, or Android TV. The menu and installation steps vary by model, so check your TV’s model number and platform before following instructions.
First, identify your Toshiba TV’s platform
Toshiba Smart TVs do not all use the same app store. Official Toshiba materials cover VIDAA, Fire TV, and Android TV models. Find the model number on the TV’s label or in its settings, then check the matching Toshiba support page or manual for the exact interface.
On some Toshiba TVs, the Home button opens the internet portal. The button’s function can depend on the model; Toshiba’s support guidance is model-oriented, so consult your manual if Home opens a different screen. Toshiba UK support
Install apps on a VIDAA Toshiba TV
For the VIDAA models covered by Toshiba’s MB281V manual, connect the TV to the internet, open Home, choose the app store, find the app, and select Install. - Press Home on the remote and open the app store. If your model’s manual specifies More Apps, follow that path.
- Search for the app or browse the store.
- Select the app and choose Install.
Some VIDAA models may ask you to sign in to a VIDAA account. Available apps can differ by model and country or region. Installing an app is free according to the MB281V manual, but using it may involve a fee, purchase, or subscription.
Install apps on a Toshiba Fire TV
Fire TV models use the built-in Amazon Appstore. Open the Appstore on the television, search for the app, and follow the installation prompt shown on screen. Toshiba’s MB180Y manual confirms Appstore settings and installed-app management, but does not establish a single remote-button sequence for the initial download across Fire TV versions. Some Appstore options may depend on network status and whether an Amazon account is signed in. The manual also describes controls for automatic updates, in-app purchases, external market links, and managing installed applications.
Install apps on a Toshiba Android TV
On an Android TV model, open the built-in Google Play Store, find the app, and follow the on-screen installation prompt. Toshiba identifies model 24WA2363DG as an Android TV with Google Play Store; that confirms the platform for this model, not for every Toshiba Smart TV. If you cannot find or install an app
Confirm the TV’s connection
The VIDAA app-store instructions require an internet connection. If the store does not load, check the TV’s network connection before troubleshooting the app itself.
Search the app store
An app may not appear among the items shown on the Home screen. Search within the store, or use the search option available from Home on the documented VIDAA models.

Check account and regional requirements
A VIDAA model may require a VIDAA sign-in, while some Fire TV Appstore options depend on Amazon account sign-in. Toshiba also says app availability varies by country or region. The official materials cited here do not provide a complete current catalog by app, model, and country, so check the store on your TV and the app provider’s device-support information.

Installing an app does not necessarily provide access to all its content. The service may require a separate account, purchase, or subscription; Toshiba’s VIDAA manual notes that app use can cost money even though adding apps is free.
Consider an external player if the app is unavailable
If the built-in store does not offer the app, an external streaming player connected to HDMI may be an option. Toshiba’s support information discusses using external devices, but does not certify a particular player or app pairing.
