The lowest advertised internet price in Los Angeles is not necessarily available at your address, and there is no established citywide cheapest provider. Spectrum advertises plans from $30 per month, while a County-backed WeLink rollout lists qualifying-household plans from $25 per month in select East and South Los Angeles communities. Eligibility, availability, fees, and post-promotion rates can change the actual bill. Check your exact address and compare the full monthly cost before choosing.

Which cheap internet plans are advertised in Los Angeles?

These are useful starting points, not a complete citywide price comparison. Availability and final terms depend on your address and, for discounted plans, your eligibility.

Option Advertised price and speed What to verify
Spectrum residential internet $30/month for 100 Mbps; up to 1 Gig for $60/month, each for one year, according to Spectrum’s Los Angeles page. Promotion eligibility, standard rate after one year, installation charge, optional Wi-Fi cost, and service at your address. Spectrum says a modem is included, there are no data caps or contracts, and home delivery is HFC despite its “Fiber-Powered” branding.
WeLink through Los Angeles County Community Broadband Networks From $25/month for qualifying households; market-rate plans start at $65/month. Service is rolling out in select East and South Los Angeles communities, including only all or portions of some named places. Use the County’s address map to check coverage. The County says necessary equipment is included and monthly prices are fixed through at least September 2027, with no promotional rates.
Spectrum Internet Assist 50 Mbps at $25/month for qualifying households; certain government-assistance recipients may qualify for $15/month. Check current qualification rules and whether Advanced WiFi, listed at an additional $10/month, affects the value for your household.
Access from AT&T A current Los Angeles price is not stated in AT&T’s support article. AT&T says California residents may qualify by income or through listed government programs where AT&T internet is available; annual recertification is required. Verify current availability, price, and terms directly.

This is not a full comparison of every provider or network in Los Angeles. Current comparable prices for Frontier, AT&T, fixed wireless providers, and all local networks—and checkout totals at individual addresses—are not established here.

How to find the cheapest plan available at your address

  1. Check multiple providers using the exact service address. A Los Angeles city or ZIP code is not enough to establish availability. For WeLink, use the County map to confirm whether the address falls within its limited rollout footprint.
  2. Compare the ongoing bill, not just the headline price. For a promotional offer, find the standard rate and the date the promotion ends. Spectrum’s Los Angeles offer is subject to availability and promotional eligibility; its terms say installation charges may apply and standard rates apply after the promotion.
  3. Match speed to your household. Compare both download and upload speeds where the provider discloses them. A higher advertised download rate alone does not prove a plan is better value for your needs.
  4. Check data, equipment, and fees. Confirm any data allowance, modem or router charges, Wi-Fi add-ons, installation or activation charges, taxes, and other recurring fees. Spectrum states its offer has no data caps and includes a modem, but optional Advanced WiFi can cost extra.
  5. Read the terms before ordering. Check contract and cancellation terms, new-customer eligibility, and whether the quoted price is recurring or temporary. Confirm the full checkout total for your address.
  6. Apply eligible assistance to the comparison. Compare the net bill after a state subsidy or provider discount, and ask whether it can be used with the specific plan you are considering.

Can you get low-income internet assistance in Los Angeles?

Potentially. California LifeLine’s Home Broadband Pilot is a state subsidy, not a single internet plan. Provider participation is voluntary, so eligibility does not mean every ISP or plan will accept the benefit. California also has a separate Spectrum Internet Assist program for qualifying households.

Federal Lifeline is not an automatic discount on any home plan

USAC lists a $9.25 broadband support amount, but whether it can reduce the cost of a suitable home broadband plan depends on provider participation and program conditions. It is not automatically applied to every Los Angeles ISP. Check USAC’s Lifeline rules and minimum service standards and confirm participation with the provider.

Why cheap internet matters—and why advertised prices need context

California Broadband for All reports that 61% of surveyed respondents without home broadband cited cost as one reason they did not have it. That is survey data for California, not an estimate of the share of Los Angeles residents without home service. It helps explain why an advertised low price matters, but the amount due after fees, equipment, and promotions is the figure to compare.

The County’s August 6, 2026 announcement of the community broadband rollout attributed the following statement to Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell: “This investment is about creating opportunity, ensuring families aren’t forced to choose between paying for internet and other basic necessities, and making sure every resident, regardless of their ZIP code, has the tools they need to thrive.” The rollout’s reach remains address-specific, so residents should use the County map rather than assume the service covers an entire named community.
