Their capabilities and compatibility below are those reported at launch in January 2006—not guidance for connecting them to devices today.
What Motorola’s three CES 2006 accessories did
| Product | Purpose | Reported compatibility |
|---|---|---|
| H5 Miniblue | In-ear Bluetooth headset for calls | Launch coverage describes its design and dimensions but does not specify a present-day compatibility guarantee. |
| TXTR D7 | Full QWERTY keyboard for text entry on a Bluetooth phone | The phone needed to support the relevant Bluetooth profiles, DUN and SPP, according to New Atlas. |
| Music Duo | Bluetooth audio accessory for an iPod, with phone-call handling | MacRumors reported support for third-generation or newer Dock Connector iPods and Bluetooth 1.1 or 1.2 phones with headset and hands-free profiles. |
H5 Miniblue: an in-ear headset with a different microphone concept
Motorola’s H5 Miniblue combined an in-ear speaker and microphone. New Atlas’s January 5, 2006, report said the headset picked up the wearer’s voice through the ear canal and listed dimensions of 33 × 41 mm and a weight of 0.26 ounces. Those figures were reported from the product announcement, not independently measured.
AnandTech’s January 7 CES show-floor account described the microphone as being in the ear canal and sensing speech vibrations through the jaw. The concept was intended to reduce surrounding noise heard by the person on the other end of a call. Motorola’s announcement also promoted clearer communication in noisy environments; neither account establishes independently tested acoustic performance.
TXTR D7: a wireless QWERTY keyboard for phone text entry
The TXTR D7 was a slim, compact, full QWERTY keyboard intended to connect wirelessly to a compatible Motorola Bluetooth-enabled phone. Its use case was straightforward: type text on a separate keyboard rather than on the phone itself.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
New Atlas reported support for the Bluetooth DUN and SPP profiles and cautioned that the phone had to support the relevant profiles. That launch-era requirement should not be read as evidence that the keyboard works with current phones, operating systems, or Bluetooth implementations.
Music Duo: sending iPod music to Bluetooth headphones
Music Duo added Bluetooth audio capability to an iPod, allowing it to stream music to Motorola Bluetooth stereo headphones, according to New Atlas and MacRumors. MacRumors also reported that the accessory could connect to a compatible Bluetooth phone: an incoming call paused the music, and playback resumed when the call ended.

MacRumors listed launch-era support for third-generation or newer iPods with a Dock Connector, including iPod, iPod mini, and iPod nano. For phones, it listed Bluetooth 1.1 or 1.2 devices supporting headset and hands-free profiles. These are historical compatibility notes from January 2006, not a promise of operation with present-day devices.
How the three devices fit into the CES accessory scene
The products addressed separate tasks rather than competing with one another: the H5 Miniblue was for calls, the TXTR D7 for phone text entry, and Music Duo for iPod listening through wireless headphones. Bluetooth accessories also appeared elsewhere on the show floor: iLounge’s CES 2006 roundup reported that Logitech showed a Bluetooth 2.0+EDR keyboard-and-mouse set for PC owners. That broader context does not change the distinct uses of Motorola’s three products.

What the historical reports do—and do not—establish
The January 2006 coverage documents what Motorola announced or demonstrated and the compatibility conditions reported at the time. It does not establish current retail availability, the condition or authenticity of any surviving unit, ongoing support, present-day compatibility, or performance under independent testing. Anyone considering a vintage example should treat the period specifications as historical information rather than current setup guidance.
