The Capital One VentureOne Rewards card charges no annual fee and currently offers 0% introductory APR for 15 months on purchases and balance transfers. Its main compromise is a 1.25-mile-per-dollar base rate; the higher 5-mile rate is limited to select purchases booked through Capital One Travel or Capital One Entertainment. Whether it fits depends on how you book travel, how you plan to redeem miles and whether you can pay balances before the introductory period ends.

Does the Capital One VentureOne card have an annual fee?
No. Capital One lists a $0 annual fee for VentureOne. The card’s no-fee structure may appeal to someone who wants a travel-rewards account without paying an annual charge, but the value of its rewards still depends on how much you spend in qualifying categories and how you redeem miles.
What is the current VentureOne welcome offer?
The live offer is 20,000 bonus miles after spending $500 on purchases in the first three months. Capital One says this one-time offer may be available only when applying through the Apply Now flow on its page. It also excludes applicants who received a new-cardmember bonus for VentureOne, Venture or Venture X during the prior 48 months. Confirm the offer and your eligibility during application; it may change.

How many miles do you earn with VentureOne?
Everyday purchases
VentureOne earns 1.25 miles per dollar on net purchases. That is the standard rate for purchases that do not qualify for an elevated category.
Capital One Travel bookings
Qualifying hotels, vacation rentals and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel earn 5 miles per dollar. The booking channel matters: hotel incidentals, upgrades and other expenses not booked through the portal earn the standard rate rather than the elevated rate.

The introductory transfer fee is 3% of each balance transfer posted at the introductory APR during the first 15 months. Capital One may offer promotional APR transfers later with a 4% fee. Under the current disclosure, a transfer at the purchase APR after the first 15 months has no transfer fee. Capital One determines transfer eligibility at its discretion, and balances issued by Capital One cannot be transferred to this account.
For cash advances, the disclosed APR is 28.74% variable, with a fee of $5 or 5% of the advance, whichever is greater. A late payment can incur a fee of up to $40.

How payments are allocated
Payments up to the minimum generally go first to the balance with the lowest APR, including a balance at 0%. Amounts paid above the minimum generally go first to the balance with the highest APR. If you use the card for purchases and a transfer, this allocation can affect how quickly each balance is paid down.
Can you use VentureOne miles for travel booked elsewhere?
Yes. Capital One describes a redemption option that lets cardholders use miles to cover eligible past travel purchases made elsewhere, provided the redemption is made within 90 days after the purchase posts. You can also book travel through Capital One Travel and redeem miles toward the trip cost.

Other redemption options may have different values, and Capital One says those rates can vary or change. Transfer eligibility to external travel loyalty programs is not universal; it depends on the rewards product and selected program. Check the options available in your account before assigning a fixed cash value to miles or planning around a particular transfer partner. Capital One says miles do not expire while the account remains open, though unredeemed rewards may be lost if the account closes.
Who is VentureOne best suited to?
- Potential fit: Someone looking for a travel rewards card with no annual fee, a 15-month 0% introductory APR on purchases and transfers, and plans to use Capital One Travel for eligible hotel, vacation-rental or rental-car bookings.
- Weaker fit: Someone whose priority is a higher everyday earning rate, who rarely uses the issuer’s booking portal, or who expects to carry a balance after the introductory period. The ongoing variable APR may make borrowing costly.
When comparing cards, look at more than the welcome offer. Compare annual fees, everyday and category earning rates, whether elevated rewards require portal booking, the duration and scope of any 0% APR, transfer fees, ongoing APR, redemption choices, foreign transaction fees and your own approval prospects. The available terms establish VentureOne’s features but do not establish how it compares with any particular competing card.
What credit score do you need to get approved?
Mastercard’s public listing labels the displayed credit tier “Excellent or Good,” but it also says a credit score alone does not guarantee approval. Capital One makes approval decisions under its credit standards and application review. No score label can predict an individual applicant’s outcome.
