Yes. Vudu—now called Fandango at Home—supports watching movies through a web browser, including titles in your library. The service also offers rentals, purchases and free ad-supported streaming. The exact video quality you get depends on the title and your browser, operating system and device; Fandango’s published 4K guidance covers compatible TVs and devices, not every desktop-browser setup.
Is Vudu still called Vudu?
Vudu is the former name of Fandango’s streaming store. Fandango announced the change to Fandango at Home on February 15, 2024, and said users would experience no service disruption, keep their libraries and continue using the same username and password. In July 2026, Fandango announced a broader unified brand encompassing free streaming, rentals, purchases and other entertainment services. Older references to Vudu may still appear in articles or on devices, but the consumer service is now part of Fandango.

How to watch Fandango at Home in a browser
- Open the Fandango at Home website in a supported, up-to-date browser.
- Sign in with the username and password associated with your Vudu account.
- Open your library to play a movie you own, or choose a title available to rent, buy or watch free with ads.
Browser access is a published way to use the service, but the available information does not establish a complete current browser-by-browser compatibility list. If playback fails, check Fandango’s current support information and try an updated browser or a compatible device app.

Why playback quality can vary
A title’s available quality is not a guarantee that every browser and computer will play it at that resolution. The result can depend on the title, browser, operating system, digital-rights-management support and device. Fandango documents 4K UHD playback on compatible 4K TVs and devices; that does not establish a blanket 4K promise for desktop browsers. The current support material cited here does not provide a full browser quality matrix for SD, HD, HDX or UHD.

Older descriptions should not be treated as current guarantees. Walmart’s 2016 launch announcement for Vudu Movies on Us said free ad-supported titles could be available in 1080p HD when available; that was a historical launch description, not a promise that all free titles today play in HD.
What you can watch, and how it is paid for
- Owned movies: Sign in to access titles in your Fandango at Home library.
- Rentals and purchases: Many titles are offered transactionally, with availability and terms varying by title.
- Free streaming: The service also offers free, ad-supported titles; the selection and playback quality can vary.
Fandango’s 2021 announcement described a catalog of more than 200,000 new-release and catalog movies and TV shows. In 2026, Fandango and Versant Media described the catalog as more than 300,000. Those are dated company-reported catalog figures, not a guarantee that every title is available in every country or at all times.

Browser, TV app or console: which should you use?
| Option | Best for | Quality considerations |
|---|---|---|
| Web browser | Watching on a laptop or desktop without installing a TV app. | Browser access is supported, but a complete current browser-specific quality matrix is not published in the cited material. |
| Compatible TV or streaming device app | Watching on a living-room screen. | Fandango documents UHD on compatible 4K TVs and devices; title and device compatibility still matter. |
| Game-console app | Watching through a console already connected to a TV. | Availability and supported quality depend on the console, title and app; check current device support. |
Can you watch your Movies Anywhere titles?
Fandango at Home connects with Movies Anywhere for eligible linked movie libraries. Eligibility and availability depend on the title and the connected accounts, so a movie appearing in one service does not necessarily mean every title will transfer or sync.

What to check if a movie will not play
- Confirm that you are signed in to the account holding the movie.
- Check that the title is available in your region and that a rental has not expired.
- Update your browser and operating system, then retry playback.
- If you need UHD, use a compatible 4K TV or device and confirm the title supports it rather than assuming a computer browser will deliver 4K.
- Try the service’s app on a compatible TV or device if browser playback remains unreliable.
