No. A YouTube Premiere is a scheduled, shared viewing of a video—not a broadcast that restarts when it ends. The finished gaming VOD stays on your channel as a regular upload. Viewers can replay it on their own devices, but to show gameplay continuously as a channel-wide live broadcast, you need to send a live stream to YouTube through an encoder.
What happens when a YouTube Premiere ends?
A Premiere gives a video a public watch page, countdown, and live chat so viewers can watch together at a scheduled time. When the Premiere finishes, the video remains on the channel as a regular upload. The Premiere event itself does not continuously restart the video. YouTube may also keep chat replay available; that preserves the chat experience, not a repeat broadcast of the VOD. YouTube Help: Premiere a new video
Can you loop a Premiere or gaming VOD?
You can loop the video after the Premiere, but the loop is for an individual viewer’s playback. YouTube provides Loop or Repeat controls for videos and playlists on supported computer, mobile, TV, and gaming-console interfaces. It does not turn the upload into a channel-wide live stream, and each viewer controls their own playback. YouTube Help: Loop videos or playlists on YouTube

Which YouTube feature fits each goal?
| Goal | Feature | What it does | Limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Schedule a shared first viewing of a finished gaming VOD | Premiere | Creates a watch page with a countdown and live chat; the video remains as a regular upload afterward. | The event does not repeat continuously. |
| Repeat a video for one viewer | Loop or Repeat | Repeats a video or playlist in that viewer’s playback session. | It does not broadcast the video from your channel. |
| Show gameplay continuously as a live broadcast | YouTube Live with an encoder | Sends a live feed to YouTube Live; encoder workflows can include gameplay and overlays. | Requires a live-stream setup. The equipment depends on your source and production needs. |
How to set up a continuous gaming broadcast
If your aim is for viewers to find gameplay under your channel’s live tab, rather than to replay the VOD privately on their own screens, use YouTube Live and an encoder workflow. YouTube identifies encoder streaming as a common option for gameplay and overlays. Its guidance recommends professional-grade hardware encoders for higher-production events, while also noting that expensive equipment is not necessary to get started. YouTube Help: YouTube live streaming tips — Computer
- Choose the source. Decide whether you will stream gameplay live or play recorded material through an encoder. If you are capturing a separate console or video source, a capture card may suit your setup; YouTube’s guidance does not make one universally mandatory.
- Prepare the encoder. Set up software or hardware that can send your chosen video feed to YouTube. Add overlays only if you want them; they are not required to make a live stream.
- Set up the live stream in YouTube Studio. Create or schedule a stream and follow YouTube’s current on-screen instructions for connecting your encoder. Interface labels and available options may change, so use the linked YouTube Help guidance for current setup details.
- Connect and start the encoder. Use the stream details YouTube provides, verify the incoming feed in Studio, and start the broadcast when it is ready. Check both video and audio before directing viewers to the live page.
- Plan for the end of the broadcast. YouTube may post a replay as a video after a live stream ends. DVR is a live-viewing control, not a way to restart the stream; rewind may be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours. What Premiere, looping, and Live Redirect do not do
None of these features turns a finished Premiere into a continuous channel broadcast. Live Redirect can send viewers from an ended live stream to a Premiere or another live stream, but it is an audience transition—not a way to make a Premiere repeat. YouTube lists eligibility requirements for Live Redirect, so check its current instructions if you plan to use it. YouTube Help: How to use YouTube Live Redirect

Common problems and what to do
- Viewers say the VOD is not live after the Premiere. That is expected: the Premiere ends and the upload remains as a regular video. For a channel-wide live broadcast, set up YouTube Live through an encoder.
- A viewer can loop the video, but others cannot see it as a live stream. Looping only affects that viewer’s playback. Share the regular upload for individual replays, or use an encoder-based live stream for a live channel feed.
- The live page is not receiving the encoder feed. Check that the encoder is connected using the current stream details from YouTube Studio, then confirm that Studio shows an incoming feed before starting or promoting the broadcast.
- You expect viewers to rewind a long live stream. DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable when a stream exceeds 12 hours. Do not treat DVR as a substitute for a posted replay or a continuously restarting broadcast.
