Possibly—but buying a beat does not guarantee that a YouTube 24/7 stream will avoid a copyright claim or interruption. The written license must cover continuous livestreaming and any archived replay, and YouTube may still detect the track unless its rights holder adds your channel to a Content ID allowlist. YouTube makes you responsible for having the necessary rights for both the live stream and its archive.
What a beat purchase does—and does not—give you
A purchase is not universal copyright clearance. The seller’s written license sets the permissions, and terms differ among sellers. Before using the beat, verify that the license covers the exact use you have in mind, rather than assuming that payment alone authorizes it. YouTube says creators must have the necessary rights to third-party content in a live stream.
- Live use: Does the license explicitly permit YouTube livestreaming, including continuous or 24/7 playback?
- Archived replay: If you save the stream as a VOD, does the license also allow that replay to remain available?
- Channel and territory: Does the permission apply to the channel you will stream from and to the places where viewers may access it?
- Duration and continuous use: Does the license set a term, usage limit, or other condition that affects an always-on stream?
- Content ID handling: Does the licensor explain how to request channel allowlisting and resolve mistaken claims?
These are questions to check against the actual license and with its owner. Without seeing the specific contract, it is not possible to say that a particular beat purchase is sufficient.
Why a licensed beat can still interrupt a live stream
Permission and YouTube’s automated detection are separate issues. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If its systems detect a track, the stream may receive a warning and can be interrupted or terminated if the issue continues—even if you have licensed the music.

YouTube’s guidance for creators who licensed third-party content is: “If you’ve licensed third-party content to use in your stream, ask the owner of the content to add your channel to their allowlist through Content ID.” See YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams. Contact the beat’s rights holder before going live and ask whether they can allowlist your specific channel. Allowlisting is not a guarantee that no other copyright issue can arise.
What can happen to the stream archive
If you archive a live stream, YouTube says a Content ID claim may be made after the stream ends. A stream that was not interrupted live therefore may still receive a claim on its replay. Confirm that the license covers archived playback as well as the live broadcast, and ask the rights holder how they handle Content ID claims on the archive.

- Read the license itself. Find the terms for livestreams, continuous playback, saved replays, the relevant channel, territories, and any time or usage limits. Do not rely only on a product page or the fact that you paid.
- Ask the rights holder about Content ID. Give them your channel details and ask whether they can add the channel to their Content ID allowlist for this beat. Keep their response and any license documentation.
- Clarify archive claims. Ask how the licensor handles a claim on a saved stream, including what information they need to verify your permission.
- Check YouTube’s live-stream rules. Read YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams before broadcasting.
- Do not treat a clean first broadcast as clearance. Detection and claims can occur later, including on an archived replay. Review the stream and any notices after it ends.
Creator Music does not license livestream use
Creator Music is not a workaround for putting a track in a YouTube live stream. YouTube’s guidance says Creator Music does not support licensing for live content and that Creator Music tracks cannot be used in livestreams. See YouTube Help: Creator Music eligibility and restrictions.
