Generally, yes: YouTube does not state a required cooldown between ending one livestream and starting another. You can go live again right after ending a stream if your channel remains eligible and you are within YouTube’s simultaneous-stream limits. That is not a guarantee against account-specific restrictions, encoder errors, or temporary platform problems.
When you can start another stream
YouTube’s Get started with live streaming guidance sets eligibility and concurrent-stream limits, but does not specify a waiting period after a stream ends. A channel must be verified and have had no livestreaming restrictions in the previous 90 days.
YouTube also limits simultaneous streams to 10 active streams per channel and 3 active streams per stream key. These are concurrent-stream caps, not a cooldown. YouTube states: “Once either limit is reached, you will not be able to start additional streams.”

A livestream restriction or strike
A restriction can override the general answer. YouTube says a strike prevents livestreaming for 14 days. An account with an active restriction may not use another channel to livestream. Check the channel’s status and any YouTube notifications if Studio will not let you start.

You are still sending a stream or have reached a limit
Ending a broadcast in one place does not necessarily mean every active stream has stopped. For encoder broadcasts, end the event in Live Control Room when applicable and stop sending content from the encoder. If your channel still has 10 active streams, or the stream key has 3, YouTube will not allow another to start until an active stream ends.
Temporary or setup errors
No published cooldown does not rule out an encoder connection problem or a temporary YouTube issue. If YouTube rejects the new stream despite eligibility and available capacity, confirm that the prior broadcast has ended, check the encoder’s connection and selected stream key, then try creating a fresh event in YouTube Studio.

How to start another livestream
With an encoder
- In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and end the current event if it is still active.
- Stop sending content from your encoder so the previous stream is no longer active.
- Create a new stream in Studio and use its stream key in your encoder, or reuse the prior stream’s settings if appropriate. YouTube’s encoder instructions explain the event workflow, and its stream settings guidance covers reusing settings.
- Start sending the new broadcast from the encoder and confirm the preview and status in Live Control Room before you begin.
With a webcam or mobile device
End the current live broadcast, then start a new one using the available live option in YouTube Studio or the YouTube app. The exact controls can vary by device and account availability. YouTube’s livestreaming tips describe available production methods.
Hand viewers to another broadcast instead
If your aim is to keep viewers watching rather than restart the same event, YouTube Live Redirect can send them to a Premiere or another live stream after the current broadcast ends. It is an audience handoff feature, not a way around livestream restrictions or concurrent-stream limits. See YouTube’s stream settings guidance.
