Yes—most Fortnite Item Shop cosmetics bought with V-Bucks can be returned if they meet Epic’s timing and eligibility rules. You can cancel an unused, unequipped purchase within 24 hours, or use a Return Ticket for an eligible purchase from the last 30 days. The V-Bucks are returned and the item is removed from your account.
Which refund option applies to your Fortnite skin?
Epic offers two routes for eligible V-Bucks Item Shop purchases. Choose based on when you bought the item and whether you have used or equipped it.

| Option | When it can be used | Ticket required? | What happens |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cancel Purchase | Within 24 hours of buying, while the item has not been used or equipped in any game mode | No | The item is removed and the V-Bucks are returned. Each item can be canceled only once. |
| Return Ticket | For an eligible purchase made within the last 30 days | Yes; one ticket is consumed | The item is removed and the V-Bucks are returned. Bundles must be returned as a whole. |
These options cover V-Bucks purchases in the Fortnite Item Shop, not every Fortnite-related payment. If you are unsure whether a purchase is eligible, check the item in the Support and Refunds area of your account.

- In Fortnite, open Player Icon → Support and Refunds → Return or cancel purchase.
- Select the purchase you want to return. Epic’s in-game list covers purchases from the last 30 days; older purchases do not appear there.
- Review whether the available action is Cancel Purchase or a Return Ticket, then confirm if you want to proceed.
Epic also describes a route through the web Item Shop. Interface placement and labels can change, so look for the named Support and Refunds area if the sequence differs. An item appearing in the recent-purchases list does not guarantee that every return route is available for it.
#1 Best Overall
- Redeemable on accounts in the United States and in U.S. Dollars.
- Gift card must be redeemed at EpicGames.com/redeem. This gift card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly on a console device (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, etc.)
- If you play Fortnite experiences on a console device, you need to link your Epic Games account to your console account(s) so items purchased at Fortnite.com/item-shop appear across all of your linked accounts
- Requires internet connection, valid Epic account and prior acceptance of the terms
- Redemption: Online
How many Return Tickets do you get?
Accounts start with three Return Tickets. Epic adds one ticket every 365 days, and an account can hold no more than three at once. Epic Support says it cannot grant extra tickets.
If more than 24 hours have passed and you have no available ticket, the purchase cannot be returned through Cancel Purchase or the Return Ticket process. Within the first 24 hours, Cancel Purchase does not use a ticket, but the item must still be unused and unequipped.

Which Fortnite purchases are excluded?
The standard cancellation and ticket process is for eligible Item Shop purchases made with V-Bucks. Epic lists several exclusions, including:
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →- Passes, pass levels, and premium reward tracks.
- Gifted purchases.
- Level Up Quest Packs.
- Certain Save the World items.
- Purchases made in developer-created islands.
Battle Pass rewards earned through gameplay are not eligible for these options. Epic treats them as earned rewards, not purchases that can be returned with Cancel Purchase or a Return Ticket. This differs from an eligible cosmetic bought directly in the Item Shop.

- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.
- Redemption: Online
Epic says some cosmetic purchases may qualify for a tokenless return in special circumstances. This applies only to specific items and is not guaranteed; check your account’s Support and Refunds options rather than assuming an exception will apply.
What if you paid real money or bought through another platform?
Keep real-money refund requests separate from V-Bucks Item Shop returns. Epic says it cannot refund real-money purchases processed by a third party. Contact the platform that handled the payment—for example, the relevant console or other storefront—for its refund process.

Epic Games Store purchases follow a separate policy, with eligibility depending on factors such as whether the product is marked self-refundable, time since purchase, and playtime. Those Store conditions do not determine whether a V-Bucks skin qualifies for a Fortnite Item Shop return.
