You can’t install the official GamePigeon app on a Samsung phone through a supported route. GamePigeon is an iMessage extension for Apple devices, not an Android app or a Samsung Messages feature. If you want casual multiplayer games on Android, Plato is a separate option—but it is not GamePigeon.
Why GamePigeon won’t install on a Samsung phone
GamePigeon is built for iMessage. Apple’s App Store listing labels it “Only for iMessage,” and the developer’s press kit describes it as iOS-exclusive. That means there is no Samsung setting to enable, nor a normal Android installation path for the official extension. This is a platform limitation, not a routine app-install problem.
GamePigeon is distributed through Apple’s iMessage App Store. The official listing specifies iOS 10.0 or later and iPhone compatibility; it does not establish support for Samsung or other Android phones. See GamePigeon on Apple’s App Store and the developer’s press kit.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:

To use the official GamePigeon extension, you need a compatible Apple device with Messages and iMessage. Apple’s listing identifies the required software version as iOS 10.0 or later. A compatible iPhone is an optional route if having the original app and its iMessage integration matters to you, but buying another phone is a substantial expense—not a requirement for playing similar casual games.

Use a separate Android game service instead
If your main goal is to play quick games with friends from a Samsung phone, consider Plato on Google Play. It is a separate Android app published by Plato Team Inc.; it does not add GamePigeon to Samsung Messages or connect to GamePigeon invitations.
Plato’s Google Play listing describes multiplayer games with chat and names Pool, Mini Golf, Cup Pong, Chess, and Four in a Row among its examples. The listing, updated September 1, 2026, also claims “over 50 amazing multiplayer team games”; that is the publisher’s own count, not an independently audited total. For this alternative, your friends would also need to use Plato.

Choose based on what you want to play
| What matters | GamePigeon | Plato |
|---|---|---|
| Platform | iMessage on a compatible Apple device | Android app listed on Google Play |
| Is it the original GamePigeon? | Yes | No; it is a separate service |
| Games | GamePigeon catalog in Apple’s listing | Examples include Pool, Mini Golf, Cup Pong, Chess, and Four in a Row |
| Chat and multiplayer | Integrated with iMessage | Plato’s listing describes multiplayer games with chat |
| What friends need | Access to iMessage on a compatible Apple device | They need to use Plato too |
Choose GamePigeon if you specifically want its catalog and iMessage integration. Choose an Android alternative such as Plato if the priority is casual multiplayer gaming with friends who are willing to use the same service. The available listings do not establish that the two apps have equivalent games or features.

Apple and the developer describe GamePigeon as an iMessage-only, iOS-exclusive app; neither documents an Android APK, emulator, bridge, or unofficial port as a way to install the genuine app. Treat claims of a Samsung installation method cautiously: a third-party app or service is not proof that it is the official GamePigeon extension. The supported options are to use a compatible Apple device for the original or choose a separate Android game service.
