Yes, in the controls YouTube makes available for that stream. For a scheduled stream, open YouTube Studio’s Create → Go live → Manage, select the stream, and click Edit to change its title and other available details. For thumbnail or other presentation options, check Customize. YouTube’s help pages do not specify a separate rule for 24/7 streams, and whether you can edit a particular field after an encoder stream has gone live depends on the controls shown for it.
Change a scheduled stream’s title or thumbnail
- In YouTube Studio, select Create, then Go live to open Live Control Room.
- Open Manage and select the scheduled stream you want to update.
- Click Edit. Change the title or other metadata fields presented in the stream details, then save.
- To look for thumbnail and other presentation controls, open Customize for the scheduled stream. Available options may vary by stream type and state; use the controls shown for this stream and save your changes.
YouTube documents the Edit workflow for stream details and the Customize step for scheduled streams, but does not promise that every control appears identically in every case. See YouTube’s live stream settings instructions and encoder setup instructions.
What changes if the stream is already live?
Webcam streams
YouTube explicitly says webcam stream settings can be changed while the stream is live or when it is not live. The webcam guidance is specific to that creation method; it should not be treated as a guarantee about every encoder stream. See YouTube’s webcam instructions.
Encoder or mobile streams
YouTube’s encoder/mobile settings guidance describes editing stream settings or setting them during scheduling, but does not make the same explicit, universal statement about changing all metadata after going live. Open the stream’s controls in Live Control Room and check whether Edit exposes the title or thumbnail field you need. If a field is unavailable, the reviewed YouTube guidance does not establish another guaranteed way to change it for that live stream.

What is—and is not—documented for a 24/7 stream
The cited YouTube help pages do not single out continuous 24/7 streams or establish a different title or thumbnail rule for them. They also do not say how quickly a saved edit appears across viewer surfaces, so do not assume a fixed refresh time. Confirm the change in the stream controls and allow for the possibility that different surfaces may not reflect it immediately.
