Yes, it is possible—but recording the bhajans yourself does not guarantee monetization. YouTube assesses whether a channel offers original, authentic content rather than repetitive or mass-produced material, and it separately requires you to have the necessary music rights. A continuous loop of your own recording can still raise policy or copyright issues.
Why self-recording helps—but does not settle monetization
Your own performance and recording can help show that the sound recording is creator-made. But YouTube reviews the channel as a whole, including its main theme, newest and most-viewed videos, the share of watch time those videos receive, metadata, and the About section. A 24/7 stream made from a highly repetitive loop may appear interchangeable or offer too little original value, even when you recorded the audio.
On July 15, 2025, YouTube clarified its policy label by changing “repetitious content” to “inauthentic content.” The policy covers repetitive or mass-produced videos and applies to livestreams as well as long-form videos and Shorts. Similar formats are not automatically disallowed: the important distinction is whether each piece has meaningful substance or creative value, rather than being effectively interchangeable. YouTube’s channel monetization policies explain the originality and channel-review standards.
Monetization review and copyright clearance are separate. Permission to use music, or the absence of a copyright claim, does not by itself make a channel eligible under monetization rules. Likewise, YPP approval is not proof that you have the rights to every song in a stream.

What rights do you need for a self-recorded bhajan?
Consider two distinct things for each song: the sound recording you made and the underlying musical work. Recording and performing a bhajan yourself may establish that you created the recording, but it does not automatically establish that you control all relevant rights in the composition. Check the rights for each work rather than assuming all bhajans are public domain.
YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility on the provider to have the necessary rights for music used in live content. Keep records of the rights you hold or permissions you have for both the recording and the underlying work. The terms do not determine the status of any particular bhajan. Can YouTube flag or interrupt your own recording?
Yes. YouTube scans all live streams for matches to third-party content, including another live broadcast. If a match is detected, you may see a warning and a placeholder image may replace the stream. If the matched material remains, YouTube may temporarily interrupt or terminate the livestream. An archived stream can also receive a Content ID claim after it ends. These checks are distinct from the channel’s monetization review. Details are in YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.

YouTube lists India among the locations eligible for the expanded YouTube Partner Program. Its lower entry threshold can open access to certain fan-funding and Shopping features, subject to each feature’s own requirements. The higher threshold is the one for Watch Page ad revenue sharing and YouTube Premium revenue.

These are eligibility thresholds, not approval guarantees or earnings estimates. YouTube reviews an applying channel for policy compliance. Feature availability and requirements can differ, so check the current Earn tab in YouTube Studio and the official expanded YPP guidance for India, YPP overview and eligibility, and YouTube earning features.
Potential features include Watch Page ads, YouTube Premium revenue, and livestream Super Chat and Super Stickers for eligible channels. Do not assume every channel or every stream can use every feature.

Checklist before running a 24/7 bhajan stream
- Make the stream meaningfully original. Avoid relying on a bare, highly repetitive loop; provide substantive variation or an original presentation that gives viewers value.
- Document music rights. Keep evidence for the sound recording and the underlying composition or any permissions you rely on.
- Watch the live dashboard. Respond to YouTube copyright alerts promptly; a match can lead to a placeholder, interruption, or termination.
- Check the channel, not just the stream. Review the overall channel theme, uploads, watch-time distribution, metadata, and About section against monetization policies.
- Verify eligibility in Studio. Check the Earn tab and the applicable requirements for each feature before planning around revenue.
