Not automatically. YouTube describes Audio Library music as copyright-safe for videos and says eligible YouTube Partner Program creators can monetize videos that use it. But its public guidance does not specifically confirm that every track may be played continuously in a 24/7 livestream or included in the stream’s archived replay. Before using a track, check its individual license and confirm that it covers both live transmission and the archive.
What YouTube’s Audio Library guidance does—and does not—say
YouTube describes the Audio Library in YouTube Studio as a catalog of royalty-free production music and sound effects for videos, and calls its library music copyright-safe. It also says YouTube Partner Program creators can monetize videos using Audio Library tracks, and that library downloads will not be claimed by a rights holder through Content ID. Those statements address videos generally; they do not expressly settle continuous 24/7 live playback. YouTube’s Audio Library guidance does not specify that every track is cleared for round-the-clock livestream use.
That distinction matters because a livestream has separate rights questions: permission to transmit the music live, permission to retain and make the archived replay available, and permission to monetize the resulting content. A video-use or monetization statement alone does not answer all three.

Who is responsible for music rights in a livestream?
YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions put responsibility on the creator to have all necessary rights for live content, including music licensing and public performance rights. The terms also address archived live content under the applicable agreement. YouTube states: “You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world, including, without limitation, music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licenses) and any other royalty participants.”

So a track’s presence in the Audio Library is useful information, but it is not a substitute for checking whether the particular license covers the way you plan to use it. YouTube also notes that it cannot provide legal advice; if the terms are unclear and the stream matters commercially, seek track-specific confirmation or qualified legal advice.
Check the actual track before scheduling a 24/7 stream
- Open the track’s license details in YouTube Studio. Confirm the license displayed for the exact track you plan to use rather than relying on the library label alone.
- Check attribution requirements. For a track under a Creative Commons license, YouTube says the artist must be credited in the video description. Standard Audio Library-license tracks can be filtered using “Attribution not required.” Follow the terms shown for your selected track.
- Confirm live and archive coverage. Look for terms that expressly permit continuous or repeated livestream playback and the resulting archived replay. The general Audio Library guidance reviewed here does not specifically answer that scope.
- Keep a record. Save the license information and any required attribution details so you can document what applied to the track when you used it.
- Do not proceed on an assumption. If the license does not clearly cover live transmission and the archive, obtain confirmation for that track or choose music whose terms clearly permit both uses.
How other music sources differ for 24/7 live use
| Music source | What YouTube’s guidance establishes | What to verify for a 24/7 stream |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube Audio Library | YouTube describes its music as copyright-safe for videos and says YPP creators can monetize videos using it. The guidance does not expressly confirm continuous live use for every track. | Track-specific live transmission, archived replay, repeated playback, attribution, and monetization conditions. |
| Creator Music | YouTube says Creator Music licensing does not currently support live content; revenue-share tracks likewise exclude livestreams. See the Creator Music FAQ and revenue-share track guidance. | Do not treat a Creator Music license or revenue-share arrangement as clearance for a livestream. |
| Other royalty-free or paid libraries | YouTube cautions that music described as “free” elsewhere may still trigger Content ID and advises checking the actual license. See YouTube’s tips to find safe music. | Whether the license covers live transmission, archived replay, continuous playback, attribution, and monetization. |
| Original music or music used with permission | YouTube identifies original music and music used with permission as copyright-safe options. | Make sure the permission covers live and archived use, including any relevant public performance and monetization rights. |
Does continuous playback change the decision?
Yes, it makes the scope of the permission especially important. A track used once in an edited video is not necessarily licensed for uninterrupted repeat playback in a 24/7 broadcast. The public Audio Library guidance does not specify continuous-use terms for every individual track, so do not infer that permission for ordinary video use automatically covers a looped live stream and its archive.

If your stream uses a playlist, assess each track under its own displayed terms. One track with unclear or narrower permissions can create a rights problem even if the rest of the playlist is covered.

A streaming service can keep a YouTube channel live by playing uploaded videos, but it cannot grant music rights. If you use a cloud service such as StreamNeo, you remain responsible for clearing every track for the live broadcast and any archived replay. StreamNeo is for YouTube streams of uploaded videos; it does not turn a video-use license into livestream permission.
