Yes—Google Play India explicitly supports UPI AutoPay for recurring subscriptions and gives monthly YouTube Premium as an example. Whether you can use it depends on the billing options shown for your account and signup route; check the membership checkout before confirming.
What “YouTube streaming server subscription” likely means
Google’s support pages describe YouTube Premium and YouTube Music Premium subscriptions, not a separate YouTube product called a “streaming server subscription.” If you mean the paid monthly membership that removes ads and includes other Premium benefits, the relevant service is YouTube Premium.

When UPI AutoPay is available
Google Play India lists UPI AutoPay through a mandate as a way to pay recurring subscriptions, specifically naming monthly YouTube Premium. YouTube says new Premium and Music Premium subscribers who signed up on Android have been billed through Google Play since 2022. These facts do not mean every account or signup route will offer Google Play billing or UPI AutoPay; confirm what appears in your own membership flow.
Billing route makes a difference
- Google Play billing: If the YouTube membership flow directs you to Google Play and offers UPI AutoPay, you can set up the recurring mandate there.
- Another billing route: Payment methods depend on the route. YouTube says iOS app subscriptions are managed through iTunes. Check the membership page for the payment preferences available to your account.
- Existing membership: YouTube’s help pages do not guarantee that every subscriber can switch billing routes or change to UPI AutoPay. Check the options in your membership settings rather than assuming a switch is available.
How to check and set up UPI AutoPay
- Open YouTube Premium’s membership flow. Review the signup or membership payment options for your account. On Android, new Premium and Music Premium subscribers have been billed through Google Play since 2022, but availability is still account- and checkout-specific.
- Confirm the billing provider. Continue only if the flow uses Google Play and displays UPI AutoPay as a payment option.
- Select UPI AutoPay and review the mandate. Authorize it in the UPI app presented during checkout. Check the amount and frequency before you approve; Google says mandates can specify the amount, frequency, or duration, and monthly is a supported frequency.
- Complete the required authorization. Follow the UPI app’s prompts and enter your PIN if required. Do not treat setup approval as a guarantee that every future payment will need no further authorization.
- Verify the membership and mandate. Check YouTube’s membership page for the billing status and use your UPI app’s AutoPay controls to review the mandate.
UPI AutoPay authorization and control
Google Pay’s AutoPay guidance says a recurring payment below ₹15,000 requires UPI PIN entry when setting up the mandate. For a payment above ₹15,000, each payment requires PIN approval. Google also says it notifies users within 24 hours before a bank debit and that you can revoke a mandate; after revocation, the merchant cannot debit funds under that mandate. Your UPI app may present the mandate and controls in its own interface.

Recurring billing, cancellation, and card mandates
YouTube says Premium and Music Premium members are automatically charged at the start of each new billing cycle until they cancel. Its India guidance may also show an e-mandate prompt depending on the payment setup. Google’s separate guidance about RBI rules for card e-mandates discusses card automatic payments and possible prepaid-plan prompts where cards do not support automatic payments; that is distinct from Google Play’s explicit UPI AutoPay example. Follow the payment instructions shown for your chosen billing route.
