Yes—but for an unattended 24/7 stream, your phone should manage a cloud service rather than send the broadcast itself. YouTube’s mobile app can create, schedule, and start eligible mobile live streams, but that is different from running prerecorded video continuously while you leave the phone alone.

The important distinction is whether the phone is the broadcast device or just a remote control. If the phone sends the video, it must remain part of the live setup. If a cloud service runs the loop, you can manage the setup from a phone without leaving a PC running.
Use YouTube’s mobile app for a live phone broadcast
YouTube supports mobile, webcam, and encoder live-streaming methods. It describes mobile as suitable for vlogging and quick updates from a phone or tablet, while encoders provide more flexible production options. See YouTube’s live-streaming overview.
Check eligibility first
- Your channel must be verified.
- You need at least 50 subscribers for mobile live streaming.
- Your channel must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days.
- You need a supported phone or tablet.
- First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable the feature before the day you plan to stream.
Requirements and availability can change; check YouTube’s current mobile live-streaming guidance before relying on it for an event.

Create or schedule the stream
- Open the YouTube app while signed in to the channel that will host the stream.
- Use the app’s create flow to start a live stream, or choose the scheduling option if you want to prepare it for later.
- For a scheduled stream, return to the app and start the scheduled broadcast when it is time to go live.
- Check the stream as viewers will see it and keep the phone, connection, and app available for the duration you intend to broadcast.
YouTube documents creating or scheduling a mobile stream and starting a scheduled stream. Those controls do not establish that the app will sustain an unattended, prerecorded 24/7 loop.
For prerecorded video, use a cloud-hosted stream
A cloud workflow is the better fit when the goal is to keep prerecorded, rights-cleared material playing continuously rather than broadcast a live camera feed. You upload videos or create a playlist, connect the YouTube channel, and let the provider run the stream. Your phone can handle setup and checks; the cloud, not the phone, runs the feed.

An encoder-based stream is for sending a live feed—not simply looping uploaded videos in a cloud service. YouTube receives the encoder’s video using a stream URL and key.
- In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and retrieve the stream URL and stream key for the broadcast.
- Enter those values in your encoder’s streaming settings. Keep the key private: YouTube describes stream keys as “your YouTube stream’s password and address.” See Manage live stream settings.
- Configure the encoder for the video and audio you intend to send. The exact bitrate, resolution, and keyframe options depend on your source and encoder; follow YouTube’s current encoder guidance rather than assuming that one setting applies to every production.
- Start the encoder, check the Live Control Room preview, and monitor the viewer-facing stream. YouTube’s stream preparation guidance covers preparation and monitoring.
A phone may help you configure or check an encoder workflow, but it does not remove the need for the encoder to send the feed. For a prerecorded loop that must continue without your equipment running at home, use a cloud-hosted workflow instead.

Protect the stream key, content rights, and archive
Keep the stream key private
Treat the key like a password. Do not share it in a public post, message, or screenshot. If you believe it has been exposed, replace it in YouTube’s Live Control Room and update the connected encoder or service.
Confirm you have the rights to everything in the loop
A cloud service does not grant permission to rebroadcast music, video, images, or other material. Check that you have the necessary rights for every item and that the planned use complies with YouTube’s current rules, including its copyright guidance and monetization policies. Repeated or reused content can raise separate monetization concerns even when you have permission to use it.
Plan separately for long-stream archives
YouTube’s encoder guidance says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume the same archive outcome for a broadcast lasting longer than 12 hours; arrange your own recording or archive plan if you need a copy. See YouTube’s live-stream archiving guidance.

Check the stream before leaving it unattended
- Open the public or unlisted viewer link and confirm the video and audio are playing as expected.
- Check the service’s status page or stream controls periodically if the provider offers them.
- For an encoder setup, confirm that YouTube is receiving the feed and that the Live Control Room preview looks right.
- Verify the playlist order, loop behavior, and planned duration before relying on the stream.
- Keep a separate copy of important recordings if you need an archive.
These checks reduce avoidable surprises; they are not a guarantee of uninterrupted service.

You cannot start a mobile stream
Check channel verification, subscriber eligibility, recent live-stream restrictions, and device support. If mobile streaming was just enabled, allow up to 24 hours for activation.
A scheduled stream does not start by itself
Scheduling prepares the mobile stream; YouTube’s app workflow still requires you to start the scheduled stream. Open the app and start it at the scheduled time.

The encoder is not reaching YouTube
Check that the encoder has the correct stream URL and key, that the key has not been changed or exposed, and that the encoder is actively sending. Then check the Live Control Room preview before treating the stream as live.
The cloud stream stops or does not loop as expected
Check the provider’s status and plan limits, confirm the playlist and channel connection, and verify that the stream duration is within the plan’s maximum. Recovery behavior varies by service and should not be treated as an uptime guarantee.
The archive is missing
Check the stream duration and YouTube’s archive guidance. YouTube’s stated automatic archive behavior applies to encoder streams under 12 hours, not as a blanket promise for longer broadcasts.
