Yes, it may be technically possible, but YouTube does not document a built-in feature that automatically loops an archived livestream into a new one. You would need to supply the replay as video to an encoder that sends a new livestream to YouTube. Whether that works depends on your encoder and where and how the replay is available. You also need rights to everything in the recording, and a repetitive rebroadcast may raise a separate monetization concern.

What YouTube supports—and what it does not document

YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room lets you create a new encoder stream and reuse settings from a previous stream. Reuse settings copies the metadata, settings, and stream key; you can change the new stream’s settings afterward. YouTube’s instructions describe connecting an encoder to a YouTube Live server URL with a stream key, but they do not describe a dedicated “loop this replay” switch or guarantee a particular way to turn an archived replay into encoder input. YouTube’s Live Control Room instructions and encoder setup guidance cover those documented workflows.

So the practical answer is conditional: if your chosen encoder can play the replay as a video source and send it to YouTube, rebroadcasting is technically plausible. That is an inference from the encoder workflow, not a YouTube-stated replay-loop procedure. Exact steps depend on the encoder software and the replay’s location and format.

How to prepare a replay rebroadcast

  1. Check the complete recording and its rights. Review the whole replay, including background music, soundtracks, overlays, and other third-party material. Having created the gameplay broadcast does not necessarily mean you have the rights to every asset in it.
  2. Create a new encoder livestream. In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create a new stream, or choose the option to reuse settings from a previous stream. Reusing settings copies the stream key along with other settings, so verify the details before going live. You can change the new stream’s settings.
  3. Configure your encoder’s YouTube connection. Enter the YouTube Live server URL and the stream key in the encoder, following its instructions. Treat the key as sensitive: YouTube compares it to a password and address. Do not share or publish it.
  4. Set the replay as the encoder’s video source. This depends on whether the encoder can accept the replay file or playback source and whether it can repeat it. YouTube’s cited help pages do not specify the encoder’s replay-source controls, so consult the software’s instructions for those steps.
  5. Check the stream before and during the broadcast. Confirm the correct video and audio are being sent, and watch for YouTube alerts or interruptions. A successful encoder connection does not establish that the recording is cleared for use or that the format is eligible for monetization.

Copyright and monetization are separate checks

Rights and live copyright scanning

YouTube’s Live Stream terms place responsibility on the provider to have the necessary worldwide rights for the live content, including music licensing rights. The Live Stream Terms and Conditions state that responsibility explicitly. YouTube also scans live streams for third-party content; detection may result in a warning, a placeholder replacing the stream, or interruption or termination. An archived stream may receive a Content ID claim after it ends. YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams explains these possibilities.

Check licenses for music and other third-party content before rebroadcasting. A replay having appeared on your channel before is not proof that every included asset is cleared for another live use.

Repetitive content and monetization review

Copyright clearance does not decide whether a channel can monetize a rebroadcast. YouTube says its monetization policies apply to live streams and describes repetitive or mass-produced material as “inauthentic content.” Its reused-content review considers whether repurposed material adds significant original commentary, substantive modifications, or educational or entertainment value. The policy does not say that every rebroadcast of your own archive is automatically disallowed; it also does not guarantee that an owned recording will qualify. YouTube’s channel monetization policies note a July 15, 2025 clarification that renamed repetitious content as inauthentic content and said the reused-content policy did not change.

Consider whether the new event gives viewers something meaningfully different, such as live commentary, context, a new challenge, or substantial editing. These changes may add viewer value, but they do not guarantee monetization approval.
