Yes, but not through a built-in Google Drive-to-YouTube connection. Use an encoder between them: make the episode available as a media source, then have the encoder send the live feed to YouTube with the stream URL and stream key. A local copy is a straightforward way to provide the file; whether a particular encoder can use a Drive link directly depends on that encoder and is not established by Google or YouTube’s documented workflow.
How the Drive-to-YouTube workflow works
Google Drive can store and play uploaded videos. YouTube’s encoder workflow accepts a live feed through an encoder using a stream URL and stream key. The platforms document those roles separately; they do not document a native, one-click Drive-to-YouTube Live integration. The practical route is to provide the episode to an encoder, then send the encoder’s output to YouTube Live. Google Drive’s video playback guidance and YouTube’s encoder guide explain the respective parts.
Use a local file unless your encoder confirms Drive-link support
Downloading or otherwise making an authorized local copy of the episode gives the encoder a conventional media file to open. A Drive share URL is not automatically a playable source for encoder software: the reviewed platform documentation does not establish direct support for that. Consult the chosen encoder’s current instructions for supported source types and formats, and test the exact file before scheduling a broadcast.

What to check before you stream
Confirm channel eligibility and activation
YouTube’s current guidance says a channel must be verified, have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, and be operated by a streamer who is at least 16 years old. First-time live-streaming enablement can take up to 24 hours, so activate it well before the episode is due to air. Check YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance for current requirements.

- [Natural Audio Clarity] Operated with frequency response of 50Hz-16KHz, the podcasting XLR mic delivers balanced audio range, likely to resonate with your audience. Directional cardioid dynamic microphone corded will not exaggerate your voice, while rejects unwanted off-axis noise for vocal originality and intelligibility during your PS5 gaming streaming video recording. (Tips: Keep the top of end-addressing XLR dynamic microphone AM8 facing audio source, and suggested recording range is 2 to 6 in.)
- [XLR Connection Upgrade-Ability] To use XLR connection, connect the podcast microphone to an audio interface (or mixer) using a separate XLR cable (NOT Included) . Well-connected and smooth operation improves audio flexibility to make you explore various types of music recording singing. The streaming mic isolates the pristine and accurate sound from ambient noise with greater no interference and fidelity. (RGB and function key on mic are INACTIVE when using XLR connection.)
- [USB Connection with Handy Mute] Skip the hassle of setting something up and plug the cable to play the dynamic USB microphone directly, which suits for beginner creators or daily podcast. You can quickly control the gamer mic with tap-to-mute that is independent of computer/Macbook programs to keep privacy when live streaming. LED mute reminder helps you get rid of forgetting to cancel the mute. (RGB and function key are only available for USB connection, but NOT for XLR connection)
- [Soothing Controllable RGB] RGB ring on the desktop gaming microphone for PC, with 3 modes and more than 10 light colors collection, matches your PC gears accessories for gaming synergy even in dim room. Get the desired level via monitoring volume control when gaming recording. Smooth mic gain knob on the PC microphone gaming has some resistance to the point, easily for audio attenuation or boost presence to less post-production audio. (Only available for USB connection)
Check the episode file and playback limits
Google Drive lists WebM, MPEG4/3GPP/MOV with supported codecs, AVI, MPEGPS, WMV, FLV, MTS, and OGG among video types that can be played. Device support can vary. Drive playback is limited to 1920×1080, and availability can depend on storage and network conditions. A video that plays in Drive is not therefore guaranteed to work in every encoder. Check the encoder’s supported formats and test the full episode, including its audio, before relying on it live. Drive may make instant playback available while processing continues. See Google’s Drive video guidance.
Plan enough upload bandwidth
The encoder sends the stream from the computer’s internet connection to YouTube. YouTube recommends that total stream bitrate stay below available upload bandwidth, with about 20% spare capacity. Test the actual upload connection where the encoder will run; a download-speed result or a network’s advertised maximum does not confirm that the upload path can sustain a live episode. Follow YouTube’s streaming tips and encoder settings guidance when choosing settings supported by both the source and encoder.

Set up and start the livestream
- Enable live streaming early. In YouTube, verify the channel and enable live streaming, allowing up to 24 hours for first-time activation if required. Confirm the channel meets YouTube’s current eligibility rules before planning the broadcast.
- Create or schedule the event. Open YouTube Studio and go to the Live Control Room to create or schedule the stream. YouTube’s encoder setup guide walks through connecting encoder software to a live event.
- Connect the encoder securely. Copy the stream URL and stream key from YouTube into the encoder’s streaming settings. Treat the key like a password: do not display it in the video, share it publicly, or expose it in a recording. YouTube recommends RTMPS as a secure ingestion option. The YouTube Live Streaming API documentation also describes ingestion URLs.
- Load the episode as the media source. In the encoder, select the local episode file or another source explicitly supported by that encoder. Confirm the picture and sound are present, then use the encoder’s streaming settings that work with the file and YouTube’s current guidance. Check the YouTube preview before going live.
- Start early, inspect, then broadcast. Start the encoder in time to verify the preview and stream health before the scheduled start. YouTube recommends testing representative audio and video and monitoring the stream. For prerecorded episodes with no audience interaction, choose latency settings with the trade-off in mind: lower latency can increase buffering, while the audience does not benefit from the shortest delay if real-time interaction is unnecessary. DVR controls can let viewers pause or rewind when enabled. Details are in YouTube’s streaming tips and stream settings guidance.
- End the broadcast cleanly. Stop the encoder and end the stream in the Live Control Room. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, but confirm the current stream and archive settings and check the resulting video after the event. See YouTube’s encoder guide.
Choose a workflow for one episode or recurring programming
| Approach | Best fit | What to account for |
|---|---|---|
| Computer encoder with a local episode file | A one-off episode or a setup where you want direct control over the source and broadcast. | The computer and network connection must remain available during the stream, and the encoder must be able to read the file. YouTube supports software encoders; exact media-source steps depend on the software. |
| StreamNeo | Recurring prerecorded YouTube programming you want to run from the cloud rather than keep a home computer on. | Upload the recording or build a playlist, add the YouTube stream key, and start the stream. StreamNeo loops uploaded videos and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. It streams to YouTube only. |
| Dedicated hardware encoder | A production setup that has a separate reason to use dedicated encoding hardware. | YouTube also supports software encoders; the documented workflow does not make dedicated hardware a requirement for streaming an episode. |
YouTube’s encoder guide also lists Gyre as a cloud-based option for 24/7 prerecorded YouTube streams. That listing does not establish its current price, compatibility with a particular Drive workflow, or whether it is suitable for a single episode; verify those details with the provider before choosing it. YouTube’s encoder guide lists its named options.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match may replace the stream with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it. A license alone may not prevent interruption: YouTube says the rights owner may also need to add the channel to a Content ID allowlist. YouTube’s livestream terms require the provider to have the necessary rights for livestream exploitation, including applicable music rights, and to follow applicable laws and platform guidelines.
