Yes. A church can schedule a week of recorded sermons as separate YouTube videos, setting each one to premiere on its own date and time in YouTube Studio. Each Premiere gets an advance watch page, reminders, a countdown and live chat; choose ordinary scheduled publication instead if you only need the videos to become available at set times.
How to schedule a week of sermons as Premieres
YouTube’s Premiere setup is configured for each video; it does not provide a single recurring weekly Premiere setting. You can upload as many as 15 videos at a time, but you must edit the details and schedule each video individually. See YouTube Help’s computer upload instructions and Premiere workflow.
- Prepare the recorded sermons as video files and upload them in YouTube Studio. You may upload up to 15 videos at a time; this is an upload batch limit, not a way to apply one schedule to all of them.
- For each upload, enter its title, description, thumbnail and other video details.
- Open the video’s Visibility settings, select Schedule, and set that sermon’s date and time.
- Select Set as Premiere. Choose countdown options if desired, then save or schedule the video.
- Repeat for every sermon in the week. Check the date, time and time zone on each video before scheduling.
- Copy each Premiere’s watch-page URL and share it in advance so viewers can visit the page and set a reminder.
YouTube recommends scheduling a Premiere at least 24 hours ahead so viewers around the world have a chance to see its thumbnail in their subscriptions feed. The guidance does not state a maximum scheduling lead time, so check Studio if you are planning much further ahead. YouTube Premiere help
Premiere or ordinary scheduled publication?
| Choose | What viewers get | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| Premiere | An advance watch page, reminders, a countdown and live chat; viewers watch the recording together in real time. | A church wants the sermon release to feel like a shared event and plans to promote or host the viewing. |
| Ordinary scheduled publication | The video becomes available at the date and time you choose, without the Premiere countdown and live chat experience. | The church simply wants each sermon published on a timetable. |
During a Premiere, viewers can rewind but cannot skip ahead past the point reached in playback. After it ends, the video remains on the channel as a regular upload, with chat replay available. For ordinary scheduling, YouTube lets you choose a date, time and time zone. The date displayed on the watch page is based on Pacific Standard Time, so it may differ from the date shown in Studio for someone scheduling from a time zone ahead of Pacific time. Check format and channel status before scheduling
- Video format: YouTube’s Premiere help says Shorts, 360/VR180 videos and videos with output above 1080p are not supported for Premieres. Premiere a new video
- Community Guidelines status: If the channel has a strike, a scheduled Premiere may be set to private during the penalty period. Check channel status and reschedule after the penalty if needed. Premiere a new video
- Cadence: Choose a schedule the church team can sustain, and tell viewers when plans change. YouTube recommends a consistent, sustainable publishing schedule. Upload schedule tips — Video
Promote the watch page and host the chat
A Premiere’s watch page and URL are available before the sermon starts. Share the link through the church newsletter, website, social channels or pinned comments, and invite members to set a reminder. During playback, a pastor or host can greet viewers and respond to questions. Moderators can help keep the discussion focused; YouTube describes tools including moderator roles, keyword blocking and slow mode. YouTube Premiere tips
Optional Premiere features
YouTube describes optional ads, Super Chat, Super Stickers, memberships, countdown themes and trailers for Premieres. None is required to schedule sermons. Availability depends on channel eligibility; for example, YouTube’s trailer instructions specify more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. Check eligibility in Studio rather than assuming a feature is available to your church. YouTube Premiere tips · Customize your Premiere
