Yes, disabling live chat by itself does not appear to disqualify a channel from earning memberships. YouTube treats memberships as a separate fan-funding feature, but your channel must meet the current eligibility requirements and have memberships enabled. YouTube’s published guidance does not specifically confirm whether continuous 24/7 streams qualify, so check your channel’s status in YouTube Studio rather than assuming duration is irrelevant.
Why disabled live chat does not automatically rule out memberships
Channel memberships are recurring monthly payments in exchange for creator-provided perks. YouTube lists memberships separately from Super Chat and Super Stickers, which are paid features tied to live chat. Its published guidance does not identify disabled chat alone as a reason a channel cannot offer memberships.
YouTube describes live streaming as a way to interact with an audience through a video feed, chat, and more. Chat is one part of the experience, not the definition of every monetization feature. You can turn chat off and still potentially offer memberships, provided your channel qualifies and the feature is available and enabled.
That is not a guarantee that a particular 24/7 stream or channel will be approved. YouTube’s live-stream and membership guidance does not specifically settle eligibility for continuous 24/7 streams. Check the Earn section in YouTube Studio and the policies that apply to your channel and stream.

What you need to qualify and turn memberships on
Memberships depend on channel eligibility, location, applicable policies, and activation in YouTube Studio. You must also accept the applicable Commerce Product Module. YouTube may take time to review a channel after it joins the Partner Program, so meeting a threshold does not necessarily make the feature available immediately.
YouTube’s published Partner Program guidance describes two routes that can include memberships, subject to availability and feature-specific criteria:

These are published program thresholds, not a promise of acceptance or membership availability for every channel. Confirm the current requirements and your feature status in YouTube’s Partner Program overview and eligibility guidance and YouTube Studio; criteria can change.
To check setup, open YouTube Studio and select Earn. If memberships are available, follow the setup steps shown there, review the membership levels and perks, and accept the required terms. YouTube’s help pages provide instructions for getting started with channel memberships and creating or managing membership levels and perks.

Which membership perks need live chat?
Disabling chat affects perks that rely on chat, but it does not prevent you from offering every other kind of membership benefit. Choose perks your members can actually access and that comply with YouTube’s policies.

Live-stream access and chat restrictions are separate checks
YouTube says live-streaming access requires channel verification and no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. Those are access conditions for streaming, distinct from whether memberships are enabled. Review YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance and guidance on avoiding live-stream restrictions if you cannot start a stream.
YouTube notes that live chat may be disabled for some streams featuring 13–15-year-olds who are not visibly accompanied by an adult. This is an example of a chat restriction; it does not establish that every stream with chat disabled has identical eligibility or policy circumstances. Check the rules relevant to your content and channel.

What to check on a 24/7 stream
- Open YouTube Studio’s Earn section to see whether memberships are available to your channel and whether setup is complete.
- Confirm that your channel meets the current Partner Program and membership requirements, including location and policy conditions.
- Choose member perks that do not promise chat-based interactions if you intend to keep chat disabled.
- Check the applicable live-stream and monetization policies for your specific content. YouTube’s public guidance cited here does not expressly confirm or exclude 24/7 streams as a category.
