Yes. If your channel and livestream qualify for YouTube Shopping, viewers can buy products tagged during a 24/7 livestream, and you may earn commissions on eligible purchases. You can also tag products from your own connected store. Streaming continuously does not itself qualify you for monetization or guarantee that tags appear, viewers buy, or you earn money.
How product tagging can earn money
YouTube offers two main ways to connect products with a livestream:
- Products from other brands: Eligible creators in the YouTube Shopping affiliate program can tag participating products. A creator may earn a commission when a viewer makes an eligible purchase.
- Your own products: If you connect an eligible store, you can tag your products. Earnings depend on purchases and the terms for your store and products.
Retailers control product details such as price, availability, shipping, and their terms; those details can change. YouTube says creators may also earn on other eligible items a viewer buys after clicking a product tag.
There is no universal commission rate. YouTube Studio displays an estimated rate, but the rate active on the purchase date applies. Rates can vary by product and seller, change with promotions or seller decisions, and differ when YouTube matches a product tag to a local seller for an international viewer. YouTube reports 30 billion shopping-related watch hours on its platform in 2023, but that platform-wide figure is not a forecast of any individual channel’s sales or earnings.

Who can use YouTube Shopping affiliate tagging?
YouTube currently lists the affiliate program as available to eligible creators based in Argentina, Brazil, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, the United States, and Vietnam. Availability and requirements can change, so check the Earn section in YouTube Studio for your channel’s current eligibility.
YouTube’s stated minimum requirements include:
- Being in the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) and meeting its subscriber threshold.
- Not being a music or Official Artist channel, or associated with music partners.
- Not having your channel audience set as Made for Kids and not having a significant number of videos marked that way.
These are not the only considerations: the channel and content must also meet the applicable Shopping and monetization rules. YouTube’s published guidance does not identify a special qualification or earnings rule for channels that stream 24/7.
Can you tag Amazon products?
Yes, but Amazon tagging has additional requirements. YouTube says creators must be in YPP and enrolled in the YouTube Shopping affiliate program in the United States, Brazil, or India. U.S. creators must also link an active Amazon Influencer Program or Amazon Associates account to their YouTube channel. Check YouTube Studio and the applicable program terms for current availability and account requirements.

When product tags may not appear
YouTube says product tags are not shown in certain cases, including content with claimed content, made-for-kids content, content deemed limited or ineligible for monetization, paid content, or content blocked for ads. A long-running stream does not override these restrictions.
For products from other brands, YouTube advises creators to feature products prominently, use them safely, and make them meaningfully relevant to the livestream topic. You must have the necessary rights to livestream your content, including music rights. If a stream includes paid placements, use the required paid-promotion disclosures. Where you may earn commission, tell viewers clearly; YouTube’s live-shopping tips recommend explaining and demonstrating products and disclosing the potential commission.
How to tag products before, during, or after a livestream
- Check eligibility: In YouTube Studio, open the Earn section and confirm that the relevant Shopping features are available to your channel. Check product and content eligibility as well.
- Prepare relevant products: Choose products that genuinely fit the stream and will be featured prominently. Confirm that you have the rights to all stream content, including any music.
- Tag before or during the stream: Use YouTube Studio’s livestream product-tagging controls. Review the tagged items and their relevance before going live.
- Use desktop Live Control Room pinning if useful: YouTube’s desktop Live Control Room can automatically pin tagged products one after another, rotating every 60 seconds.
- Add or adjust tags after the stream: YouTube allows products to be tagged after a livestream; products newly tagged afterward can appear in the replay.
- Disclose clearly: Use required paid-promotion disclosures when applicable, and tell viewers when you may earn commission from purchases.

What a 24/7 schedule does—and does not—change
A continuous schedule can give viewers more opportunities to encounter a stream, but YouTube’s published Shopping guidance does not say that streaming around the clock creates a separate monetization status, makes products eligible, or raises commission rates. Earnings still depend on channel and content eligibility, supported products and markets, relevant tagging, and qualifying purchases.
