YouTube excludes live streams and Premieres from Super Thanks during the event. Afterward, an archived long-form replay may qualify, but only if both the channel and that video meet YouTube’s requirements. For support during the broadcast, eligible Indian creators can use Super Chat and Super Stickers instead.
When Super Thanks is available on a 24/7 stream
Super Thanks is for eligible videos, not for viewers to send while a live stream is in progress. YouTube’s eligibility guidance explicitly excludes “Live streams or Premieres, while live” and says Super Thanks may be available on archived long-form videos afterward. The rule applies to live streams generally; YouTube does not describe an exception for a stream that runs continuously for 24 hours or longer. YouTube’s Super Thanks eligibility and policy guidance was accessed October 3, 2026.
That means a completed 24/7 broadcast could potentially earn Super Thanks on its replay, but the possibility is not a guarantee. The broadcast must result in a qualifying archived long-form video, and the channel and replay must meet the applicable requirements. YouTube does not promise that every very long stream will be archived or treated as an eligible replay.
What viewers can use to support a live broadcast
During the broadcast, the relevant YouTube features are Super Chat and Super Stickers, provided the channel is eligible and its live-chat setup allows them. Super Chat highlights a viewer’s message in live chat; Super Stickers let viewers surface an animated image. These are separate from Super Thanks, which applies to eligible videos rather than a live event. See YouTube’s Super Chat and Super Stickers eligibility guidance.

After the stream, viewers may be able to buy Super Thanks on the replay if it is an eligible archived long-form video. Check the resulting video and YouTube Studio rather than assuming that a continuous stream will be segmented or archived in a particular way.

Channel requirements
A channel must meet YouTube’s minimum requirements for fan-funding features, be in a supported creator location, accept and comply with the applicable terms and policies—including the Commerce Product Module—and meet the relevant channel criteria. India is included among supported creator locations, but location alone does not grant access. Channels set as Made for Kids, or with a significant number of videos set as Made for Kids or otherwise ineligible, may not qualify. If the channel has access, the Supers tab appears in the Earn section of YouTube Studio. Details are in YouTube’s Super Thanks policy page.
Rank #2
YouTube’s monetization overview, accessed October 3, 2026, lists these YouTube Partner Program thresholds. They are entry thresholds, not a guarantee that Super Thanks will be enabled; YouTube says individual features have their own requirements. Review YouTube’s monetization options and eligibility.
| YPP tier | Published threshold |
|---|---|
| Expanded YPP | 500 subscribers, 3 public uploads in the last 90 days, and either 3,000 qualified long-form watch hours in the last 365 days or 3 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days |
| Higher YPP tier | 1,000 subscribers and either 4,000 qualified long-form watch hours in the last 365 days or 10 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days |
Replay requirements
Even when a channel is eligible, an individual video can be excluded. YouTube lists age-restricted, unlisted, private, Made for Kids, copyright-claimed videos, videos associated with a YouTube Giving fundraiser, and videos with comments turned off among the ineligible cases. It separately excludes a live stream or Premiere while it is live, while noting possible availability on an archived long-form video afterward. Check the replay’s status and whether Super Thanks is actually available before counting on it.

How much of a Super Thanks purchase creators receive
YouTube says creators receive 70% of Super Thanks revenue recognized by Google after local sales tax and applicable iOS App Store fees are deducted. YouTube also says it currently covers transaction costs, including credit-card fees. This is YouTube’s general stated calculation, not a promise of a particular Indian payout: the net amount depends on transaction-specific tax and billing details. See YouTube’s buyer guidance for Super Thanks.
Super Thanks is not a donation tool
YouTube states that Super Thanks “isn’t a crowdfunding or donation tool.” It also places responsibility on creators to understand the laws that apply to them and their activities. Do not describe Super Thanks as a donation or assume that YouTube’s revenue-share figure settles a creator’s tax or legal obligations.
