Yes. YouTube allows a live stream to be marked “Made for Kids,” and a 24/7 schedule does not change the audience decision. Choose the setting that accurately reflects the stream’s intended audience and content: a cartoon stream directed at children should be marked Made for Kids. The creator—not YouTube’s automated systems—is responsible for getting that classification right.
How to decide whether the cartoon stream is made for kids
YouTube asks creators to set an audience for existing and future videos, regardless of location. When creating a live stream in Live Control Room, choose either “Yes, it’s ‘Made for Kids’” or “No, it’s not ‘Made for Kids’.” YouTube may use machine learning to identify clearly child-directed content, but creators should not rely on that system to make the decision for them. YouTube’s audience-setting guidance explains the factors to consider.

Consider the content and how it is presented as a whole. Relevant factors include:
- The subject matter and whether children are the intended or actual audience.
- Child actors, animated characters, celebrities, or toys that appeal to children.
- The language, activities, songs, games, stories, or poems featured.
- Evidence about the audience and whether the content is advertised to children.
No single factor automatically decides the question. Animation by itself does not make a video child-directed, and family-friendly content is not automatically Made for Kids. But if the cartoons, presentation, and promotion show that the stream targets children, mark it accordingly. Continuous playback does not turn child-directed cartoons into general-audience content.

What changes when a live stream is marked Made for Kids
YouTube disables or restricts several features on a made-for-kids live stream. For the live broadcast, live chat and live chat replay are unavailable, as is Super Chat. Comments on the upcoming stream and its archive, reminder notifications, and personalized ads are also unavailable or disabled. Contextual ads may still appear, so Made for Kids does not necessarily mean the stream is ad-free. See YouTube’s live-stream restrictions for its current guidance.
YouTube’s broader list of made-for-kids restrictions also covers features such as cards and end screens, channel memberships, merchandise and ticketing, notifications, Miniplayer playback, Super Stickers, and saving videos to playlists or Watch Later. The effects can differ between an individual stream and a channel-level audience setting; consult YouTube’s current feature guidance for made-for-kids content when deciding how to configure a channel.

Set the audience accurately—not to preserve features
YouTube holds creators responsible for accurate audience designation and may override a selection in cases of error or abuse. Inaccurate classification can have platform consequences and legal consequences under COPPA or other applicable local laws. Do not select “No, it’s not ‘Made for Kids’” to retain chat or personalized advertising if the content is actually directed at children.

The title alone is not enough to classify a particular channel. Review its actual cartoons, language, presentation, intended audience, and promotion. When the stream is aimed at children, select Made for Kids even if that means losing interactive or advertising features.

The audience designation is a content-classification decision, not a setting to change because a stream runs continuously. If you need an always-on stream for uploaded videos, StreamNeo runs it from the cloud: upload the video or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It keeps looping without a computer or home connection staying on. Its one-flat-price-per-slot approach supports uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps, and it automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. Made-for-kids feature restrictions still apply.
