In CameraFi Live, open Settings from the hamburger menu, enable Audio Sync under Labs, then return to the main screen, tap the microphone icon, and use the + or − controls to adjust timing. Change it in small increments and test again. Important: CameraFi warns that using Audio Sync with YouTube may affect the saved broadcast after the live stream ends.
Adjust audio sync in CameraFi Live
- Tap the hamburger menu in CameraFi Live and open Settings.
- Under Labs, enable Audio Sync. CameraFi’s instructions describe Labs as a place for trying features before official release, so the option may not appear or may be labeled differently in your installed version.
- Return to the main screen and tap the microphone icon.
- Use the + and − controls to change the sync. Make a small adjustment, then check the stream before changing it again.
- Check both the live playback and the saved broadcast after the stream ends. CameraFi warns that using Audio Sync on YouTube may cause a problem with the saved video. Its instructions also say the adjustment applies to audio in the VIDEO3 recorded file.
These controls are documented in CameraFi’s Audio Sync instructions. The page dates from 2020, and menu names or availability may differ in newer app versions. CameraFi’s FAQ still links an Audio Sync tutorial.
Identify when and where the sync problem happens
Before changing settings repeatedly, compare the stream with its archive and note how the mismatch behaves. These observations help separate a live playback issue from an archive-only issue or a problem associated with one input.
- Live playback versus saved broadcast: Check whether the audio is out of sync while viewers watch, only in the archived video, or in both. If the archive alone is affected, do not assume the live adjustment is the right way to repair it; CameraFi specifically warns about a possible YouTube saved-video side effect.
- One audio input versus another: CameraFi documents built-in, wired, Bluetooth, USB-camera, and recorded audio inputs. If practical, make a short test with another available input and compare. This is a way to isolate the source; the documentation does not establish that any one input type causes sync faults.
- Constant offset versus increasing drift: Note whether the mismatch seems steady or grows during the stream. This is a useful diagnostic observation to give support, not a cause identified by CameraFi’s documentation.
- Audio leads versus lags: Record which direction the mismatch goes and when it first becomes noticeable.
What to do if the setting is missing or does not fix it
The Audio Sync option is not visible
CameraFi’s documented route is Settings → Labs, but the instructions are from 2020 and describe the feature as a Labs option. Check the installed app’s current menus and version. CameraFi’s Android guide provides information about microphone controls and audio inputs; if the labels do not match, use the support contact below rather than assuming another setting has the same effect.

The adjustment does not resolve the mismatch
Repeat a short test after each small change, using the same video and audio setup so you can tell whether the result changed. If another input is available, compare it in a separate test. Then check the live playback and the saved broadcast independently.
Only an uploaded or edited video is out of sync
CameraFi Live’s live sync setting is not YouTube’s repair control for an already edited upload. YouTube’s guidance for uploads says to make sure the audio and video track durations are the same and recommends editing the tracks before upload. See YouTube Help: Fix audio and video sync issues.

If the fault persists, email apps.help@vaultmicro.com. Include your phone model, operating system, CameraFi Live version, audio and video sources, whether audio leads or lags, when the mismatch begins, and whether it occurs live, in the saved broadcast, or both. CameraFi lists this address in its FAQ and Android guide.

Version and platform context
CameraFi’s Android release notes list a per-audio-source sync feature in v1.32.37.603, released June 7, 2022. The same release-note page includes Android v1.35.20.0621, released June 21, 2024, as well as iOS entries; it does not establish which version is currently available to you or whether the interface is unchanged. See CameraFi release notes. Earlier iOS notes mention external-microphone connection fixes, but they do not show that a microphone connection bug is the cause of this sync problem.
