A fan experiment reportedly puts Portal-style portals, Fortnite-inspired building and Wii Sports-themed combat inside Call of Duty: World at War Zombies. The clips show playful crossover ideas for the classic Nacht der Untoten map—not an official collaboration or a publicly available mod.
What the Call of Duty Zombies crossover shows
Dexerto reported on October 2, 2026, that fan creator P.E. Cooper used World at War source code to bring the original Zombies map, Nacht der Untoten, into a browser. Cooper then shared clips of experiments that mix the familiar survival setting with items and characters from other games. The report attributes these details to Cooper’s posts; it does not describe hands-on testing by Dexerto. Dexerto’s report

Portal 2’s gun opens a way around the map
In one experiment, the Portal Gun appeared in the Mystery Box and fired working portals, letting the player move around Nacht der Untoten in a way that changes how the compact map can be traversed.
Fortnite-style building holds Zombies back
Another clip gave the player the ability to build wooden walls to slow or block the approaching Zombies, borrowing Fortnite’s construction mechanic for a defensive twist on the mode.

Wii Sports turns combat into a sports mash-up
A Mii inspired by Wii Sports fights with boxing gloves, bowling balls and a baseball bat. Rather than simply importing a character, the experiment uses recognizable sports equipment as weapons.
Other crossover ideas in the clips
Dexerto also describes experiments featuring a Sith lightsaber, an Among Us crewmate, a Mario Kart character and banana peels. Some clips reportedly add bot teammates modeled on Tung Tung Tung Sahur, Master Chief, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Rick and Morty. The report also mentions sports-game-inspired characters from Madden and NHL.

Not based on Dexerto’s report: it says the creations were available only to Cooper at the time of publication, rather than offered as an easily accessible public mod. The clips therefore show what the experiments look like, but readers should not expect a download or playable browser build from the report.

What Cooper said about the idea
Cooper recalled that, when younger, they pitched an idea to game studios and were laughed out of the room, quoting someone as calling it “the dumbest fucking thing they’ve ever heard!” Cooper then joked, “Thanks to AI I can finally prove them wrong.” This is Cooper’s account of that earlier meeting, as quoted by Dexerto—not independently verified history.
