The Bytech BY-MS-WS-120 is a simple, receiver-based wireless mouse for everyday computing, not a strong choice for competitive gaming. RTINGS’ review describes an ambidextrous shape and trouble-free connection in its testing, but also reports mediocre build quality, limited features, and weak raw performance. One practical detail needs checking before purchase: sources disagree about the battery type, and the similarly named BY-MS-WS-120-AC is a distinct listed model suffix.
What the BY-MS-WS-120 is—and how it connects
RTINGS reviewed the Bytech BY-MS-WS-120 as a basic wireless mouse that connects through a USB receiver. The review says it had no connectivity issues during testing. Keep the model name exact when comparing listings. A Bytech filing dated June 3, 2025 includes BY-MS-WS-120-AC in a group of 2.4G wireless mouse models and says the schematics are identical, with model numbers and colors differing. Shape, everyday use, and gaming
For ordinary work
RTINGS describes the mouse as small, symmetrical, and ambidextrous, making its shape a reasonable fit for uncomplicated general use by either hand. The review unit weighed 74.4 g by RTINGS’ reported test results. That is a review measurement, not a guarantee that every variant or package weighs exactly the same. The mouse has no side buttons and no configuration software, so users who need extra controls or adjustable settings should look elsewhere.

For gaming
RTINGS reports a 125Hz polling rate and disappointing click and sensor latency. It calls the mouse passable for casual FPS play but a poor choice for MMO gaming. Those are RTINGS’ findings, not independent tests for this article; the reported limitations make it a weak option for competitive play, where responsiveness and configurable controls matter.
Build quality and alternatives
RTINGS characterizes the build quality as mediocre. In its comparison, it says the Logitech M317 and M240 feel significantly better built and are likely to last longer. That is RTINGS’ assessment, rather than a durability test conducted here. If weighing this mouse against another basic wireless model, compare the connection method, hand fit, battery requirements, side buttons and customization, construction, polling rate and latency, and current price.

Battery type: verify the exact unit
The sources do not agree on the battery specification. RTINGS says its BY-MS-WS-120 review unit uses one AA battery, while a test report for the listed BY-MS-WS-120-AC model family describes tested equipment powered by two AAA batteries. The evidence therefore does not establish one battery type for all BY-MS-WS-120 listings. Check the exact model label and package before buying or stocking replacement cells. A related manufacturer note refers to BLE 1M support in the listed series, with other functions disabled. That filing detail should not be read as evidence of consumer Bluetooth pairing: RTINGS specifically reports that the reviewed mouse does not support Bluetooth connectivity.

Should you buy the Bytech BY-MS-WS-120?
Consider it if you want a basic USB-receiver mouse for ordinary tasks, prefer a symmetrical ambidextrous shape, and do not need side buttons or software customization. Skip it if you need Bluetooth, multiple-device pairing, stronger build quality, gaming responsiveness, or a confirmed battery specification across model variants. RTINGS says its review unit was purchased from Five Below; its retailer search destinations include Amazon, B&H, Best Buy, and Walmart, but those mentions do not confirm current stock or pricing. Verify the exact SKU and the live offer before ordering.
