To capture multiple webpages with HTMLCSStoImage in one request, send a POST to https://hcti.io/v1/image/batch. Put shared settings in default_options and each screenshot’s URL or overrides in variations. Authenticate with HTTP Basic using your API ID as the username and API key as the password. The batch must fit your plan’s limit, and each render uses image credits.
How the HTMLCSStoImage batch API works
The batch endpoint creates multiple URL or HTML/CSS images from one request. Use default_options for settings shared across screenshots and variations for each requested image. For a set of views of one page, place the URL in the defaults and override options such as viewport dimensions or color scheme in individual variations.
For URL captures, provide a fully qualified, publicly reachable page URL in url. The API accepts either url or html, not both; url takes precedence if both are supplied. CSS is optional and can be injected into the rendered page.
Authentication is HTTP Basic: use the API ID as the username and API key as the password. Keep the key on a server you control, treat it like a password, and grant only the permissions your workflow needs. Creating images requires the images:create permission. Send one screenshot request first
Before batching, confirm that one URL works with the single-image endpoint, POST https://hcti.io/v1/image. This makes it easier to separate rendering or authentication problems from batch-specific issues. The endpoint accepts JSON or form data and returns an image URL and ID on success.

The parameter reference documents max_wait_ms between 500 and 10,000 milliseconds; dynamic pages can also use render_when_ready. Check the official documentation for current support and constraints before relying on optional render controls.
Build a batch of URL screenshots
This cURL example requests three screenshots of the same public page with different viewport widths. The exact variation schema and accepted option names should be checked against the current API guide before deployment.

Depending on the workflow, documented variation controls include viewport, color scheme, and full-page capture. The response includes image IDs and URLs corresponding to the requested variations.

The HTML/CSS to Image pricing page lists batch capacities of up to 25 or up to 100 images per request, depending on plan. Those are published plan limits, not a guarantee that every account has the larger capacity or that limits will remain unchanged. Confirm the limit shown for your account before building a batch job around it: HTML/CSS to Image pricing.
For workloads exceeding your account’s per-request capacity, divide the work into multiple batches. Track the returned IDs and URLs alongside the input URLs so you can associate each output with its source. The service documentation does not establish a universal throughput or completion-time guarantee, so do not infer one from the maximum batch size.

Batching saved templates
If your images use saved templates, use POST https://hcti.io/v1/image/batch/templated. It accepts shared defaults and per-image template variations. Each variation must refer to a template owned by your organization and supply values for its required variables. The documented result order matches the input variation order. The plan must support batch creation, and normal authentication, usage, and plan limits still apply. See the API guide for the current template request structure.
Rate limits, credits, and duplicate requests
HTML/CSS to Image’s rate-limit documentation says image creation has no per-second or per-minute request cap. That does not mean rendering is unlimited: images consume credits and remain subject to plan restrictions. The same documentation lists separate management-operation quotas of 100 reads and 20 writes per minute for covered resource families, per organization, in a sliding 60-second window. REST and MCP management calls share those allowances. These management limits are not limits on image creation. See Rate limits and usage limits.
