Browzar says it deletes session-created cookies and other local browsing data when you close the browser. Websites and network providers can still observe some activity, and the publisher’s legacy system requirements do not establish that Browzar is suitable for current Windows systems.
What Browzar says it removes
Browzar describes itself as an “IE shell browser” intended for occasional private browsing. Its key-features page and help and FAQ page describe cleanup of data associated with a Browzar session. These are the publisher’s feature claims, not independently verified results.
- Cookies created during the session: Browzar says it deletes these when the session closes.
- Browsing history and Temporary Internet Files: Browzar says it avoids recording web history and removes temporary internet files.
- Other local records: The publisher says Browzar cleans index.dat entries associated with the session and deletes certain temporary Flash and Java application data.
- Cleanup status: Browzar describes a progress panel and a retry if cleanup fails.
Browzar also describes an optional secure-delete function that overwrites file contents and renames files before deletion. The feature description does not establish how reliably that works on present-day systems or storage devices.
What happens to cookies that were already there?
Browzar says it ignores cookies that existed on the computer before the session; it does not say it deletes them. Its stated cleanup applies to cookies created during the Browzar session. That distinction matters on a shared computer: closing Browzar is not a promise that all cookies or other data already on the machine have been removed.

Does Browzar make you invisible online?
No. Local cleanup and online privacy are different things. Browzar’s own help page says a browser must send at least an IP address so requested information can be returned. A website may therefore receive information about a connection and the requests made to it; local deletion does not undo what a site has already received. Network operators and internet providers may also be able to observe or log activity.
Mozilla makes a similar distinction for Firefox private browsing: it says private browsing clears browsing history and tracking cookies when the last private window closes, but does not hide a user’s physical location from visited sites, stop an internet provider from logging activity, or protect against malware and viruses. How Browzar’s cleanup differs from tracker protection
Deleting local data at the end of a session is not the same as preventing third-party tracking while browsing. MDN explains that third-party cookies can be combined across sites to build profiles of browsing activity. Browsers take different approaches: Firefox’s Enhanced Tracking Protection uses separate cookie jars per site, Safari has tracking prevention, and Chrome’s default handling differs from Edge’s and Brave’s protections. Cookie blocking can also interfere with site features. These descriptions are not a comparative test of Browzar. More detail is available in MDN’s guide to third-party cookies.
Is Browzar suitable for a current computer?
Browzar’s help page lists Windows 98 Second Edition and Internet Explorer 5.5 as minimum requirements. That is a legacy requirement statement, not evidence that the software is supported or compatible with current Windows releases. The reviewed official Browzar pages do not establish a current compatibility matrix or maintenance status. Treat those omissions as a reason for caution, especially on a computer used for sensitive accounts or personal information.

When Browzar’s idea may be useful
Browzar positions the product for occasional use on a friend’s computer, a shared family computer, or an internet café. The intended benefit is to reduce some traces left on that computer after a session. Anyone relying on it should distinguish that narrow benefit from tracker blocking, protection against malware, or hiding activity from a website or network provider.

Browzar says it is free and that sponsored search results support development. That describes its stated search-revenue model; it does not establish an affiliate program or independently validate the product’s privacy behavior. A 2017 arXiv record lists a chapter on forensic acquisition and analysis of Browzar, but its abstract does not provide detailed findings that support claims about particular recoverable artifacts or a comparative result: the 2017 record.
