Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Choose BrowserStack Screenshots when you mainly need browser and device screenshots; choose Applitools when you want an automated visual-testing workflow integrated with an existing test framework. They are not exact equivalents: BrowserStack lists Screenshots separately from Percy, its automated visual testing and review product, while Applitools describes Eyes as Visual AI and Ultrafast Grid as a cross-browser and device testing grid.
First, separate screenshot capture from visual regression testing
“Cross-browser screenshots” can mean either collecting images from different browser and device combinations for people to inspect, or automatically detecting and reviewing visual changes in a test pipeline. Those are related tasks, but they call for different product capabilities.
- BrowserStack Screenshots: BrowserStack’s documentation index describes this product as “Cross browser screenshots.” It is the more direct fit when the output you need is screenshots across browser/device combinations.
- BrowserStack Percy: BrowserStack lists Percy separately as “Automated visual testing & review.” If the goal is baseline comparison and a review workflow, evaluate Percy rather than treating Screenshots as another name for it.
- Applitools Eyes: Applitools documents Eyes as Visual AI that adds visual testing to an existing test framework for websites, apps, and docs.
- Applitools Ultrafast Grid: Applitools describes this as a cross-browser and device testing grid. Consider it alongside Eyes when you need visual testing across browser/device coverage.
These descriptions state intended product roles, not independent evidence that one tool catches more defects or runs faster. Product references: BrowserStack documentation and Applitools documentation.
How to choose for your workflow
Choose screenshot generation for visual inspection
If a designer, developer, or QA reviewer needs images from specified browser and device combinations, start with BrowserStack Screenshots. Confirm that the exact browsers, versions, devices, and viewports you require are available under the plan you intend to buy.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Choose an automated visual-testing workflow for pipeline review
If you want to add visual checks to existing automated tests, assess Applitools Eyes and its fit with your test framework. For cross-browser and device coverage, verify the relevant Ultrafast Grid coverage as well. If you remain within BrowserStack, compare Percy’s review workflow and integrations with your current repository and CI setup.
Compare actual coverage and integration requirements
Before deciding, list the browser versions, devices, viewports, and content types that matter, then check each vendor’s current product and plan details. Verify support for the team’s specific test framework, repository, and CI system; broad descriptions of a product stack do not establish that every integration or coverage combination is available on every plan.

Estimate usage using each product’s own unit
BrowserStack Percy publishes screenshot allowances, while Applitools Starter describes component or page checkpoints. A screenshot and a checkpoint are not interchangeable units. Estimate the monthly volume using the product’s own billing definition, and include the workflow and coverage that the team will actually use.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Where ScreenshotNeo fits
If your immediate need is a screenshot returned from a URL—not a full visual-regression review workflow—try ScreenshotNeo first. It is a website screenshot API and MCP server: one GET request can return a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. It is not a substitute for comparing Eyes or Percy’s documented visual-testing and review workflows.
