BrowserStack’s Percy visual-testing plans charge by monthly screenshot allowance, with overage rates applying after you exceed that allowance; parallel allocation affects how quickly tests finish, not how many rendered screenshots they consume. As shown on BrowserStack’s pricing page on October 3, 2026, Percy Desktop was listed at $199/month billed annually for 10,000 screenshots, and Desktop & Mobile at $599/month billed annually for 25,000 screenshots. Those are displayed prices, not guaranteed quotes for every team configuration.

BrowserStack Percy pricing for teams

BrowserStack’s pricing page displayed these Percy visual-testing options on October 3, 2026. Its selector supports different volumes and configurations, so confirm the current selection and quote before purchasing.

Plan shown Displayed price and billing Included screenshots Additional screenshots
Percy Desktop $199/month, billed annually 10,000/month $0.036 each
Percy Desktop & Mobile $599/month, billed annually 25,000/month $0.048 each

These figures are the page-captured amounts, not a guaranteed quote. The displayed material did not establish exact prices for every team size or parallel allocation. Check the BrowserStack pricing selector for the configuration you need, or ask BrowserStack sales to confirm it.

Free plan and team access

BrowserStack’s Percy billing documentation says the free plan includes 5,000 screenshots per month, unlimited users, and unlimited projects. Paid plans have plan-specific screenshot allowances; usage beyond the included units is treated as overage and charged at the applicable rate. See Percy billing documentation for the current account and billing details.

Do not infer Percy seat rules from BrowserStack’s FAQ for other products. That FAQ says Live and App Live plans require a license per team member, while Automate and App Automate include unlimited users but limit parallels by plan. Those are product-specific statements, not confirmation of Percy’s team-user policy. Check the terms for the Percy configuration you are buying. BrowserStack FAQ.

How Percy counts screenshots

Percy counts a screenshot for an individual browser and responsive-width combination. A snapshot can group several of these screenshot permutations, so the number of snapshots shown in the interface is not the same as the number of billable screenshots.

For example, two pages rendered across two browsers and three responsive widths produce 12 screenshots: 2 pages × 2 browsers × 3 widths. To estimate monthly usage, count the rendered page or component variants and multiply by the browser and width combinations you run for each one. Then compare that total with the plan allowance and account for likely overage.

Percy’s billing documentation says you can review consumption for the current billing period in the account’s Usage dashboard. Depending on your role and account type, usage can also be filtered by team or organization.

What is a parallel test?

BrowserStack Support defines parallel testing this way: “Parallel tests indicate the number of automated tests that can be run simultaneously. Each test is run on one browser-OS combination at a time. More parallel tests speed up the time taken to complete a test suite.” In practical terms, parallel capacity determines how many test executions can be underway together; it can shorten elapsed suite time when there is enough work to run concurrently.

Screenshot volume and parallel allocation are separate planning dimensions. Running more tests simultaneously does not change the number of browser-and-width renderings in the suite. BrowserStack’s pricing page describes Percy parallel allocation in relation to screenshot usage and says higher allocation leads to faster tests, but the captured pricing information does not specify a universal team concurrency quantity or price. Verify the allocation in the live selector or in a current quote. BrowserStack Support: parallel tests.

How to choose a plan for your team

  1. Estimate rendered combinations. Count pages or components, browsers, and responsive widths for each run; multiply them to estimate screenshot consumption.
  2. Compare the estimate with the monthly allowance. The free plan’s documented allowance is 5,000 monthly screenshots. The two paid prices and allowances shown above are the pricing-page figures captured on October 3, 2026.
  3. Model overage exposure. If your expected total exceeds the allowance, use the displayed per-screenshot overage rate as an estimate, then validate it against the selected configuration and current quote.
  4. Choose coverage intentionally. Decide whether desktop-only coverage is adequate or whether your suite needs the Desktop & Mobile option.
  5. Size parallel allocation for completion time. Consider how soon results must be available and how much work can run simultaneously. Confirm the selected Percy allocation rather than assuming a particular number of parallels.
  6. Confirm team-user terms separately. Ask about user access for the specific Percy plan; do not transfer licensing rules from Live, App Live, Automate, or App Automate.
  7. Check billing cadence and current configuration. The prices displayed here were billed annually. Recheck the live selector for your team’s volume, coverage, and concurrency before committing.

ScreenshotNeo: an alternative to try first

If the need is capturing website screenshots through an API rather than running Percy visual-regression tests, ScreenshotNeo is an alternative to try first: it removes consent banners and other known clutter before capture, and only clean shots are billed. It is a screenshot API and MCP server, not a replacement for Percy’s visual-testing workflow.

Or skip the browser setup

One GET request can return a screenshot:

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp

See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for request options. Cookie banners, popups, and chat widgets are removed before the shot; bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots, and 1,000 screenshots per month are free with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Sign up for ScreenshotNeo free.

Common pricing and planning mistakes

  • Using snapshot count as the usage estimate: calculate browser-and-width combinations, because one snapshot may contain several screenshot permutations.
  • Treating parallels as screenshot units: concurrency affects elapsed execution time; screenshot combinations determine usage.
  • Assuming every team configuration has the displayed price: the public selector may vary by volume and configuration, and the captured page did not disclose every combination.
  • Applying another BrowserStack product’s license policy to Percy: confirm Percy’s own user terms instead.
  • Budgeting from a stale price: plan figures and allowances can change, so check the live pricing selector before buying.
