Capture a full website page with Playwright
Playwright’s fullPage option tells the browser to capture the full scrollable page as if it fit on a very tall screen. The basic documented call is:

Useful screenshot options
The screenshot API also supports image format, clipping and quality options. Check the current Playwright documentation for the accepted values and details for your installed version. A full-page capture can be large; use a clip instead when only one region matters, or select JPEG and a quality setting when a smaller lossy image is acceptable.
Practical limits and page behavior
- Full-page mode captures a tall page image; it is not the same as capturing each viewport separately and stitching a set of screenshots.
- Content that appears only after interaction may require clicking or scrolling before the screenshot. The basic script does not perform those actions.
- Lazy-loaded images may not appear until their content approaches the viewport. If the page does not load them during navigation, add deliberate scroll-and-wait logic before capturing.
- Pages with sticky elements, animations or personalized content can look different depending on timing and browser state. For repeatable captures, control the browser context, wait conditions and page state.
- Very long pages can produce large images and use substantial memory. If the output is unwieldy, capture a specific region or split the job into sections.

What to verify before choosing a hosted capture service
Product names can obscure important scope differences. Before moving a workflow, check whether the feature captures website pages or native apps, and whether it is a one-off screenshot API or part of a visual-regression product. Also verify browser and device coverage, handling of dynamic or lazy-loaded content, export formats, integration methods, and the pricing unit and quota. BrowserStack’s full-page guide and pricing: what they do and do not establish
The cited BrowserStack guide is specifically for App Percy and native apps. It says fullPage defaults to false, describes screenLengths as the number of device screen lengths, gives four as the default, and says values above 10 reset to 10. The guide labels the feature beta. Those details should not be treated as specifications for BrowserStack Screenshots website captures.

Troubleshooting Playwright full-page captures
The script cannot launch Chromium
Install the browser binary for the Playwright package in use with npx playwright install chromium. If running in a restricted environment, verify that the runtime permits the browser process and its required system dependencies.
Navigation times out waiting for network idle
Some sites keep analytics, streaming or polling requests open. If networkidle does not complete, wait for a meaningful page element or use a deliberate short delay after a less strict navigation condition. Choose a condition that signals the content you need is ready rather than assuming every request will stop.

The screenshot is missing images or below-the-fold content
Confirm the page has finished rendering and that lazy content has been triggered. Scroll through the page in steps, waiting for content to load, then take the full-page screenshot. If a consent dialog or interaction blocks content, handle that state explicitly in the script.
The output is unexpectedly huge or visually inconsistent
Use a clip when only part of the page is needed, or standardize the browser viewport and page state. For a long document, consider capturing separate sections. Disable or wait out animation where consistency matters, and avoid comparing captures made with different content or timing conditions.
