For the second quarter of 2026, Johnson & Johnson reported $25.310 billion in sales, compared with Bristol Myers Squibb’s $12.973 billion in total revenues. The figures are a useful snapshot of reported top-line scale, but the companies use different labels for their totals.

Q2 2026 quarterly results at a glance

Company Q2 2026 reported amount Q2 2025 comparison Company’s label Reported year-over-year growth
Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS, NYSE: BMY) $12.973 billion $12.269 billion Total revenues 6%
Johnson & Johnson (J&J, NYSE: JNJ) $25.310 billion $23.743 billion Reported sales 6.6%

BMS’s figures are from its Form 10-Q for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, filed July 30. J&J published its Q2 results on July 15, 2026. These are company-reported, unaudited interim-period results; BMS notes that amounts may not sum due to rounding. BMS Form 10-Q · J&J Q2 2026 results

How to read the comparison

J&J’s reported sales were about 1.95 times BMS’s total revenues in this quarter, based on the reported dollar amounts. That describes scale for this period; it does not mean the companies’ accounting categories are identical. BMS’s consolidated statement includes net product sales and alliance and other revenues, while J&J reports sales across its Innovative Medicine and MedTech segments. Use the issuer-specific labels when presenting or citing the totals. BMS Form 10-Q · J&J Q2 2026 results

Reported growth is not the same as adjusted growth

The 6% for BMS and 6.6% for J&J are their reported year-over-year growth figures. Currency-adjusted measures answer a different question and should not be substituted for reported growth or shown as revenue amounts.

  • BMS: reported revenue growth was 6%; growth excluding foreign exchange was 5%.
  • J&J: reported sales growth was 6.6%; operational growth excluding translational currency was 5.6%; adjusted operational growth excluding the net impact of acquisitions and divestitures and translational currency was 5.7%.

The companies’ release definitions differ, so these adjusted rates are not directly interchangeable. BMS Q2 2026 earnings release · J&J Q2 2026 results

How to make a fair bar chart

  1. Title the chart “Q2 2026 reported top line” and identify the period clearly.
  2. Plot two bars on the same zero-based axis in U.S. dollars, billions: BMS at $12.973 billion and J&J at $25.310 billion.
  3. Label the bars with each company’s own measure name: “Total revenues” for BMS and “Reported sales” for J&J.
  4. Put the Q2 2025 comparisons and reported growth rates in a separate annotation or accompanying text. Do not encode operational or adjusted operational growth as if it were a dollar amount.

This layout preserves a readable scale comparison while making clear that the issuer labels and revenue composition are not identical.

Why the period matters

This is a comparison of the latest quarterly results available as of October 3, 2026, not a multi-quarter trend. The next earnings releases can change which quarter is the latest; confirm the reporting period before reusing the figures.
